The Gentle Man Next Door is a Rabbit - 58

TGMNDIAR - 58

"Master, although hard work is good for you, your mouth is about to split from smiling," Nades reminded gently.

Xu Mu's smile flattened. "Oh."

Nades continued, "Should we move the books from your study as well?"

"Move them."

"And your certificates and trophies, should we arrange them like before?"

"...Yes." After all, they belonged to the original owner, so they should be placed as they were.

"You don't plan to take down the curtains, do you?"

"Take them."

"Are you sure?"

Xu Mu responded naturally, "After all, I— I mean, I bought them. They will come in handy someday, right?"

Nades said with satisfaction, "Master, you are indeed a frugal and life-loving person."

Xu Mu: "..."

"The garbage drafts you threw in the cabinet, you won't take those, right?"

"Of course—" Xu Mu stopped himself, "No, I won't."

"Do you want to replace your toiletries when you move? For example, the corner of your toothbrush cup is chipped."

Xu Mu's smile grew a bit wider, "Ah, no need for that."

"Okay."

"...Aren't you going to ask why?"

Nades' black eyes rolled, and in a tone that implied "You're really boring," he asked, "Oh, why?"

"Brother Nian bought me a new set of couple cups."

"..." Nades laughed insincerely and flattered, "I see, they must be new and to your liking, right?"

Xu Mu took a sip of water, unable to suppress the curve of his lips, "They're quite nice, I really like them."

Nades swept the floor with a storage rod and said softly, "Alright, Master, if you're not going to work, please leave."

Xu Mu quickly stepped back, "Who said I'm not working? Isn't this work?" He clicked his tongue and continued dismantling his gaming device.

The room fell silent again until...

"Sigh... I'm leaving."

Xu Mu furrowed his brows, looking around, realizing Nades had already left.

He pinched the bridge of his nose, saying irritably, "Shouldn't you have left long ago?"

The black ball snorted, "I need to prepare, don't you understand?"

"Oh."

"I'm heading to the protagonist gong's side now, let's keep in touch in the future."

Xu Mu: ?

"Why do we need to keep in touch?" Xu Mu asked.

The black ball justified iself confidently, "You messed up the plot, shouldn't you help me set it straight?"

"Don't randomly use idioms," Xu Mu sighed, "If you're going to find the protagonist gong, and lead him to the right path, why should it concern me?"

"The protagonist shou is usually around you, so I need to understand both sides of the situation."

"..."

"Am I wrong?"

"...Fine, do as you wish, but don't appear in front of Brother Nian."

"Why not!"

Brother Nian is living so well now, there's no need to know about those stupid future events that haven't happened yet.

"I don't have energy points," the black ball extinguished, burying its head like a quail.

Grumbling to himself, "Tsk, if I hadn't spent a lot of energy points to transform into an orc, would I have done that... It was you who instigated me..."

Xu Mu couldn't be bothered to respond.

The black ball said, "I installed a software on your light brain, you can see the messages I send by opening it."

Xu Mu was puzzled and opened the light brain.

"...I thought you would suddenly speak in people's minds."

"I could have, but am I not poor?" The black ball sighed, "I will come back regularly to collect emotional energy from the protagonist shou, and you—"

He said awkwardly, "Treat the protagonist shou well, or else I'll run out of energy."

Xu Mu glanced sideways, remarking, "It’s rare to hear such words from you."

The black ball was furious.

...

"Ye Ye, why are you looking at me like that?" Xu Mu raised an eyebrow, picking up Ye Ye who was standing on the sofa.

Ye Ye looked at the things continuously being moved into the house with a puzzled expression, "Daddy... brought the big beehive..."

The big beehive was the tent Xu Mu used to store Ye Ye's toys, because its shape resembled a hornet, Ye Ye affectionately called it the "big beehive."

"It's going to be in your house from now on," Xu Mu said casually.

Ye Ye's little face wrinkled.

"Are you unhappy?"

Ye Ye's round, big eyes looked at Xu Mu, suddenly his mouth puckered, and tears streamed down his face.

"Daddy..."

Xu Mu froze, frantically wiping the tears, "Hey hey, don't cry, what's wrong? Did I say something? You don’t like the big hornet anymore?"

Ye Ye choked up, covering his mouth with chubby little hands, trying hard not to cry out loud.

Xu Mu's scalp tingled, "My little ancestor, why are you crying?"

"Daddy... Daddy's leaving... wuwuwu... Daddy's leaving..."

Xu Mu barely understood his words, helplessly saying, "I'm not leaving, where would I go?"

Ye Ye cried, "Daddy's leaving... Daddy's leaving..."

Xu Mu: “...“ Not a good omen.

"What's wrong?" Bai Nian came out of the room, softly asking, "Ye Ye, why are you crying?"

Ye Ye wiped his tears, sniffling, "Daddy's leaving... he's leaving... I won't see him anymore..."

Bai Nian hugged him, comforting him while asking Xu Mu for an explanation.

Xu Mu was bewildered and could only describe what had just happened.

Bai Nian chuckled, "Ye Ye, Daddy brought the toys over not to leave, but to live with us."

Ye Ye stopped crying, repeating in a stutter, "Live with us..."

"Yes."

Ye Ye blinked, with traces of tears still on his face, but a big smile appeared.

"So... Daddy will live with us from now on?"

"Yep, that's right."

"Not leaving?" Bai Nian looked up at Xu Mu.

Xu Mu immediately confirmed, "Yes, not leaving."

Ye Ye instantly smiled again, giggling as he leaned in, sticking to them for a while before continuing to play hide and seek with Kadou.

Xu Mu wiped his face, heaved a sigh of relief, "I thought it was something serious."

Bai Nian smiled, "Ye Ye  is quite sensitive. Once he gets used to playing with someone, he wants it to last forever. If there's any sign of separation, he can't help but cry."

"I see," Xu Mu nodded thoughtfully.

"Have you moved everything?" Bai Nian asked.

"Almost done, Nades is finishing up."

"Good. If there's anything you need help with or don't understand, feel free to let me know."

"Not at the moment."

Both fell silent, but their eyes met, and the air gradually thickened.

Xu Mu cleared his throat, raising his hand, gently touching his lips.

His lip was slightly swollen with a small cut, but it has scabbed over.

"Does it still hurt?"

Bai Nian shook his head, softly saying, "It just looks scary."

In the afternoon, Xu Mu got a bit carried away while kissing, accidentally biting too hard on Bai Nian's lips.

"Oh, that's good then." Xu Mu's hand slid to his shoulder, gripping his fluffy ears, whispering softly, "Did you lose control of your mimicry?"

Bai Nian quietly watched him, softly saying, "No."

He took a step forward, his curled tail stretching out, lightly brushing against Xu Mu's thigh.

"Don't you like it?"

"...I do."

Baì Niàn chuckled softly.

Xu Mu suddenly understood, his hand pinching his ear tightened, then carefully smoothing the fur on top.

He lowered his head and kissed softly. Then he turned his head, cheek against the other's cheek.

"You're doing well, Brother Niàn."

Baì Niàn's hand rested on Xu Mu's shoulder. "Is this better?"

Before Xu Mu could answer, he said, "Can I hold your mimicry tonight?"

Xu Mu: "..." It seemed that Brother Nian really liked that green weird thing.

"Ah Mu?" Baì Niàn chuckled softly. "Why won't you answer when it comes to this?"

"Actually, hairless reptiles aren't fun..." Xu Mu paused. "But as long as you like it."

Baì Nian naturally continued, "No, they're cute, and they feel good in your hand."

"..." Xu Mu inwardly despised that fluorescent green, even if it was his own mimicry.

"Really cute." Bai Nian kissed his earlobe.

For a moment, Xu Mu blushed deeply.

Xu Mu straightened his ear and awkwardly said, "Oh."

Baì Nian sighed: He’s usually so bold, even when taking the initiative, why so shy as soon as he kisses him.

---

At night, in the room

Xu Mu sat on the sofa, several drawing screens open in front of him.

He seemed focused, but in fact he was very excited.

He held a pen in his hand, although there was no one around, his sweeping gaze was still very subtle.

The warm decor, with slightly warm tones, was filled with exquisite small designs and ornaments.

He didn’t know if it was an illusion or his hallucination.

Xu Mu pursed his lips, always feeling that he could smell a faint fragrance from Brother Nian's body in this room.

Maybe it was...

He looked at the hydrangeas on the windowsill.

Xu Mu felt inexplicably excited, but did not know why.

The first day of formal cohabitation.

The first day of rightful sharing a bed together.

...

He took a deep breath, tonight should be the night he turned into his mimicry, wrapped himself around Brother Nian, playing with him, and then going to sleep when he is tired.

They probably wouldn't get to the last step.

Xu Mu inexplicably recalled that night—

It seemed like everything was done, but something was missing that night.

Brother Nian, who took the initiative, had a distracted look, the corner of eyes were red, his beautiful long legs tightly coiled around his neck...

At that moment, Xu Mu felt that the other person was more like a snake.

A brightly colored, fatally toxic python.

"Ah Mu." A call brought Xu Mu back to reality.

"Brother Nian, have you finished bathing?" Xu Mu stood up abruptly.

Bai Nian's hair dripped with water, and his cheeks were warm from the heat. His eyes were moist, looking at Xu Mu. "Yes, you can go wash up now."

"Okay." Xu Mu felt a bit dry in the mouth.

...

Xu Mu washed slowly, the hot water from the shower making him feel a bit scalding. It was like a fire rising from the bottom of his heart. The vivid memories didn't completely break through the filter, instead adding a sense of mystery and unforgettable longing.

He knew how good it felt but never experiencing it, his imagination grew even wider.

"Brother Nian."

When Xu Mu came out, Bai Nian had covered himself with a blanket, leaning against the head of the bed. His fluffy ears hung quietly on both sides, and the warm yellow light cast a golden halo around his contours.

His original white bathrobe was nowhere to be seen, replaced by a loose-fitting home outfit in beige, looking soft and comfortable. Warm, cozy, reassuring, as if it could smooth out all the ripples.

Xu Mu's restlessness faded away, gradually calming down.

"Finished washing?" Bai Nian looked up, a faint smile on his lips.

"Yeah..." Xu Mu's heart skipped uncontrollably again.

"Hairdryer," Bai Nian reminded.

Xu Mu nodded, quickly drying his hair. In just a few seconds, it went from flat against his scalp to messy and tousled.

Bai Nian chuckled, "Oh my, your hair—"

He gestured for Xu Mu to come over.

Xu Mu obediently sat in front of Bai Nian, bowing his head and allowing him to play with his hair. Bai Nian didn't bother to find a comb, he instead ran his hands through Xu Mu's hair.

When he noticed the little tips of his hair sticking up at the back couldn't be pressed down, he stopped.

Xu Mu grabbed his wrist and leaned in for a kiss. Their breaths intertwined, tongues meeting, exchanging saliva. Breathing became constrained, occasionally accompanied by muffled moans.

"...Ha, Ah Mu..." Bai Nian was a bit dazed from the kiss, feeling a hint of suffocation in his lungs.

Sensing this, Xu Mu loosened his lips and gently patted his back. "Feeling better?"

"Mmm..." Bai Nian leaned against Xu Mu's shoulder, his eyelashes moist and sticking to his eyelids.

He didn't forget Xu Mu's mimicry. "Snake... just took a shower, you still feel warm."

Xu Mu didn't say anything, releasing his grip. A glossy, emerald-like bamboo green snake slithered out from his clothes a few seconds later.

A smile grazed Bai Nian's lips as he reached out. The moving snake raised its head, lazily wrapping around his wrist.

"So cute." He kissed the snake's head, feeling a bit cool but not icy, smooth and slippery.

"Come under the blanket." Bai Nian's tone was light and pleasant. "It's warm here."

Xu Mu had no objections, simply following his instructions.

"Good boy..." Bai Nian said with a smile. His fingertips brushed over the snake's scales, the texture excessively pleasant, making it hard to let go.

"Ah Mu, can I learn how to kiss you like you kiss me?" Bai Nian asked.

Xu Mu: "...” Can he say no to that?

Bai Nian seemed to sense the other's mood and was thrilled.

He grabbed the snake's body, leaned back on the pillow, and started kissing from the snake's head, moving down slowly. He kissed meticulously, making sure to cover every scale, not missing any detail.

It was rather a strange sensation, Xu Mu thought. It wasn't itchy, but rather tingly.

He shifted, and the snake's tail curled around Bai Nian's nape.

"Your tail is a reddish color..." Bai Nian's voice sounded muffled as he turned his head and kissed the snake's tail again.

Xu Mu's tail curled even tighter.

"Feeling shy?" Bai Nian pinched it with his fingertips.

Xu Mu's vertical pupils narrowed even further. Slowly, he moved his body, coiling around Bai Nian's neck and then gliding downward.

Although his snake's body temperature wasn't low due to just having taken a shower, it was still lower compared to Bai Nian's. Subconsciously, Bai Nian shivered slightly, his Adam's apple rolling lightly.

After transforming into his mimicry, Xu Mu seemed to have acquired some of the snake's habits—he didn't like to move much, preferring warm places, appearing lazy.

He circled around Bai Nian's back, waist, and abdomen, gliding like silk, before returning to Bai Nian's neck. The snake's forked tongue hissed softly, and his mind was filled with the pleasant smell of the other person.

Xu Mu didn't want to change position.

Bai Nian chuckled lightly. "So lazy, Ah Mu."

He turned over, with no constraints except for his shirt's hem rolling up.

Xu Mu was puzzled. What?

Bai Nian tapped his forehead with his fingertips. "Play with me for a while."

Xu Mu nodded. Sure, why not?

Without saying anything, Bai Nian pushed the snake's body downward.

Xu Mu froze, unable to believe it.

Wait a minute, did he just…

"Ah Mu." Bai Nian called affectionately.

Xu Mu, being a snake, already had poor eyesight, especially in the dim light.

Phew, that was close. The mimicry of the snake wasn't like the snakes he knew, relying on heat sources for vision, but evolving to be more human-like.

Yeah, it was kind of like being severely nearsighted.

Xu Mu lost his sense of direction, spinning in place several times.

Bai Nian felt him beside his legs. The temperature difference was obvious, making it not too hard to find. He located its head and gently rubbed it.

He guided Xu Mu along, after all, snakes were famously known to have bad eyesight.

"I looked up the species of bamboo green snake before..." Bai Nian said softly, "I looked and looked, but you're still the cutest."

Xu Mu: "...” Ah, really?

"Not only that, you're also very handsome." Xu Mu’s forked tongue hissed softly, thank you for that extremely high-level filter.

Bai Nian's eyes had a hint of blush, and he laughed, his chest rising and falling.

Xu Mu felt embarrassed. What was so funny?

Bai Nian laughed even more happily, almost out of breath.

His voice was sticky, with a slightly hurried tone, "Okay, haha, sorry, I won't tease you anymore..."

He closed his eyes, a few strands of hair sticking to his forehead.

Bai Nian put the snake back around his neck.

"Ah Mu, you're like jade, how can I not love you so much..." He murmured, his voice slightly hoarse.

Xu Mu's red tail coiled around his neck, tightly pressed against him.

Bai Nian tilted his head back, feeling the snake's body become sticky. He kissed the snake's head, leaving a bright mark on his lips.

"No wonder you love my mimicry so much..."

Bai Nian sighed. "It is indeed interesting."

Xu Mu: "..."

Ridiculous, he loved cuddling fluffy things! Who would cuddle a snake???
