Puppet Notes (Wearing Book) - 154

"Agu, Chi Yao, what are you doing?"

Qi Chao paused for a second in silence before speaking up. Originally, he had only landed the aircraft because he saw a few panicked humans and was worried they might be in trouble, but he never expected to encounter such a scene.

The current situation felt a bit awkward.

Chi Yao was carrying a large sword that was twice her size, her disheveled red hair, blood-red eyes, and the crimson stains on her face all revealed that she had just been doing something terrifying.

Agu, who had been smiling brightly, suddenly froze when he saw the familiar figure in front of the aircraft. Remembering that he still had the corrosive ball in his hand, he immediately hid it behind his back.

"Dad, you're back! Is Father here too? Why isn't he getting off the aircraft?"

Agu's voice was cheerful as he bounced in front of the book transmigrators, trying to draw Qi Chao's attention.

If Father is also on the aircraft, he should hurry down!

Otherwise, his man will run away soon, and his own dad might be lost! Agu thought, maintaining a bright smile on his face.

"Your father isn't feeling well; he's currently sleeping on the aircraft," Qi Chao paused before replying.

If it hadn't been for Brother Shen suddenly feeling unwell while accompanying the kids at the supermarket today, they wouldn’t have returned early, and he wouldn’t have witnessed this scene.

Agu vaguely sensed a change in Qi Chao's attitude. He felt anxious inside but continued to explain with a smile as usual, "Agu and Chi Yao are playing with these new uncles. Does Dad want to join?"

Who the hell is playing with him!!!

Several book transmigrators stood frozen in front of the demon puppet, which took pleasure in tormenting them. Their minds went blank, and they couldn’t figure out what was happening.

From the appearance of the black-haired man, it was clear that he was absolutely not the blonde villain described in the original work.

Moreover, that logo—wasn’t it the emblem of the rich, handsome cannon fodder family?

But why would the demon puppet call the man in front of them "Dad"? Furthermore, judging by the actions of the puppets, they seemed to be quite "afraid" of this man.

An existence that could instill fear in the demon puppets must be extraordinarily terrifying, and the mention of "Father" by the puppets implied that the demon puppets' father was currently on the aircraft?

How could they be this unlucky?

The book transmigrators huddled together in fear. Their leader, Li Ge, hesitated for a moment.

Noticing the demon puppet's watchful and menacing gaze, he decided to temporarily go along with what the demon puppet said. He nodded stiffly, "Yes, we are playing a game."

Agu and Chi Yao quickly breathed a sigh of relief.

Playing a game?

Qi Chao observed Agu, who appeared to be smiling but whose body was tense, and then shifted his gaze to the panicked expression on Chi Yao’s face, falling back into silence.

If it weren’t for the large sword resting on Chi Yao’s shoulder, he might have truly believed their words.

Qi Chao looked up at the few unfamiliar strangers whose expressions were tinged with fear.

Just as he was about to ask more questions, the other children from the aircraft began to descend.

"Dad, what's wrong?"

Li Bai didn’t understand why his father had suddenly stopped. He walked over to Qi Chao’s side and, upon seeing Chi Yao, Agu, and the group of frightened humans, his eyes looked a bit confused.

Xuan Jian and Shuang Jian, who had slight social anxiety, stood behind Qi Chao, staring intently at the humans.

Their past experiences had taught them that everyone except for Father and Daddy was not to be trusted.

Had they caused some trouble?

Xiang Yue shifted his gaze away from Agu and Chi Yao, his tail behind him twitching slightly, his red eyes appearing thoughtful.

Hearing Li Bai’s voice, Qi Chao closed his mouth and turned his head, finally noticing the few children behind him.

Noticing that Lan Luo beside Li Bai looked a bit nervous, with his fingers tightly gripping the seams of his pants, Qi Chao's gaze darkened slightly.

He then spoke in a natural tone, "It's nothing. I just saw these people suddenly rush out from the woods and was worried they might be in trouble. It seems like I was overthinking."

"Oh, I see,"

Li Bai’s golden eyes behind his mask curved in curiosity as he looked at the humans behind his father.

Beside them, Lan Luo, who was feeling increasingly tense, quickly relaxed a bit upon hearing this, the unease in his eyes fading somewhat. However, when he met Agu and Chi Yao’s gaze, his expression darkened considerably.

Today was the day to execute the plan.

It was truly useless to have the trial ground’s people appear at such a critical time and even run into their dad like this.

Lan Luo glared at Agu and Chi Yao with his deep blue eyes. Thankfully, their dad believed their lie; if he had started to harbor any doubts, Lan Luo would definitely not let the two of them off easily.

With that in mind, he took a few steps forward and tugged at his dad’s shirt, beaming brightly as he said, "Dad, since Second Brother and Chi Yao are having so much fun with these uncles here, let’s not disturb them! How about we head home now? Father needs to rest."

Lan Luo needed to get his dad away from this place as soon as possible.

Unless absolutely necessary, he didn’t want to wake up his father.

Qi Chao looked down at Lan Luo, faintly sensing the urgency hidden behind his smile. This urgency seemed to hint at something unspeakable.

Seeing Lan Luo grow increasingly uncomfortable under his gaze, even retracting his hand in guilt, Qi Chao's expression deepened.

Yet, the next moment, he acted as usual, ruffling Lan Luo’s hair, then said, "Alright, we’ll leave soon. I’ll just say a quick goodbye to these uncles."

Lan Luo felt a bit relieved when his hair was tousled, but his heart dropped when he heard Qi Chao mention wanting to speak with those trial ground people.

Of course, even more nervous than Lan Luo were the book transmigrators.

They never expected that five demon puppets would come down from the aircraft!!! Five!!!

Although most of the book transmigrators did not recognize the identities of the puppets, they could easily guess that the blond-haired, blue-eyed puppet was the one that looked the most well-behaved in the entire story, yet was also the most brutal in carrying out tasks!!!

This was the end.

At this moment, even Li Ge felt a sense of fear.

When the man referred to as "Dad" by the demon puppets approached, Li Ge could clearly feel the cold, threatening glares from the puppets directed at him.

A chill ran down his back, and he quickly stiffened, forcing a smile as he trembled and coughed nervously, saying, "You can rest assured, we are not bad people. When it’s over, we will let the puppets go home."

That’s what he should have said, right?

Li Ge thought to himself, feeling the killing intent around him diminish slightly. He quickly sighed in relief and became more proactive in his response, silently praying that they could leave soon so they could escape more easily.

Qi Chao wasn’t clear on Li Ge’s thoughts, but he could guess from the sweat on the other man’s forehead that he was currently feeling anxious.

He glanced over at Chi Yao, who had already put away her large sword, and then spoke in a somewhat polite tone, "My children have surely caused you quite a bit of trouble."

"Not at all," Li Ge replied, thinking, Except for wanting us dead, there's really no trouble at all.

"I would like to ask how you got to know my two children?"

Hearing this, Li Ge hesitated for a moment, but he still managed to stutter out an answer: "I... We came here for an adventure and ended up playing hide-and-seek with these two puppets."

Adventure, huh?

That explained why these people looked so ragged.

Qi Chao thought to himself, turning his head to look at Chi Yao. "Since you were playing hide-and-seek, why were you carrying such a big sword?"

Moreover, where did such a large sword even come from?

"Dad, of course this sword is fake!"

Just as Chi Yao was feeling flustered, Agu suddenly chimed in, turning to Chi Yao and giving her a knowing look. "You should quickly bring it over for Dad to see."

At that moment, Chi Yao seemed to finally understand. She pinched the hilt of the sword and quickly used her decomposition and recomposition abilities to change the material of the sword.

Once she confirmed that it was safe, she nodded, her red hair wrapped with a black headband swaying in the air as she hurried over.

"Dad, this sword is made of plastic."

Chi Yao said, extending the sword in her hand toward Qi Chao.

Qi Chao looked at the blade, pinching it to confirm that it was indeed made of plastic.

The conclusion was now quite clear: in short, Agu and Chi Yao had encountered a few humans exploring the jungle and, finding common interests, began to play hide-and-seek.

The sword was made of plastic, so it couldn’t possibly harm anyone. The blood on Chi Yao’s cheeks might have come from some sort of flower dye while they were running around in the woods.

This reasoning did make sense.

However, there were still many aspects that didn’t add up. The most obvious being that Agu had been talking about wanting to watch cartoons all day in the morning, yet he was here in the afternoon.

This forest was quite a distance from home; it would take an ordinary person nearly forty minutes to walk from the villa to here.

Moreover, Qi Chao felt that the few people in front of him and his children at home both had somewhat strange attitudes.

After thinking for a moment, he said, "I really appreciate that you have been exploring here and even indulging my two children in their antics. If you’re willing, I’d like to invite you to our home as guests."

Guests?

Old Liu and Zhang Li both shuddered at the thought.

And go back to the trial ground?

They weren't that stupid!

Although they didn’t understand why Li Ge was going along with the demon puppets' words, they absolutely did not want to go back.

However, to their surprise, their leader Li Ge actually agreed?!

Damn! Why agree to that?!

Li Ge certainly had his own reasoning.

He could sense that the man in front of him was unaware of what the puppets had done, and the puppets seemed to place a high value on him, not wanting the man to know what they had been up to.

With just the few of them, they definitely wouldn’t be able to escape the puppets’ grasp. Even if they managed to leave this time, there was no guarantee that the puppets wouldn’t take advantage of the man’s distraction to capture them again.

Li Ge thought that the most dangerous place might just be the safest one. Taking the opportunity to follow the man back home might provide them with a glimmer of hope.

After spending so much time together, Old Liu and Zhang Li had already placed their trust in Li Ge. Seeing him agree, no matter how fearful they felt, they still timidly nodded in agreement.

Upon hearing the book tranmigrators consent to their father’s invitation, the expressions of Chi Yao, Lan Luo, and Agu darkened at that moment.

However, due to Qi Chao’s presence, Agu forced a smile and cheered, "That’s great! I can have lots of fun with these uncles now!"

Qi Chao didn’t react much to this, but the book transmigrators shivered at the words.

The way the demon puppet spoke was simply chilling.

After a few hours, Shen Yuxi woke from his slumber. He had just suppressed a momentary feeling of discomfort when he heard Chi Yao, who had been guarding his bedside, mention that the book transmigrators had been invited into the villa.

Book transmigrators invited in the villa?

Shen Yuxi's peach blossom eyes trembled slightly; he didn't need much explanation to guess what had likely happened.

His fingers brushed against the sheets, the tips turning slightly white as his gaze became somewhat obscure.

The current situation was very dangerous.

One misstep could expose everything.

“Father, what should we do?”

Chi Yao felt a deep sense of guilt. If their attention hadn’t been focused on Qiao Sheng and Lu Chen in the morning, this situation with the book transmigrators escaping would not have occurred.

"There's no need to panic."

Shen Yuxi's expression remained calm; he merely pressed his lips together. Clearly, his words were less about reassuring Chi Yao and more about trying to steady himself.

Chi Yao nodded, and the next moment, she heard her father say, "Tonight's plan will proceed as usual. If all goes well, there will soon be no need for the trial ground."

From the very beginning, the trial ground had existed to fulfill their plans. As long as they made it through tonight, the trial ground would cease to exist. Even if those book transmigrators wanted to expose anything, there will be nothing left.

Qi Chao would certainly not believe them.

However, the prerequisite for all this was that Shen Yuxi had to ensure that the book transmgrators wouldn’t let anything slip about him to Qi Chao before the plan was complete.

  1. Thank you for the chapter!!💕💕

Ah, I don’t know if those book transmigrators are lucky or cursed…entering the domain of the villain while he’s asleep. Having a sit down with his boyfriend and probably even eating food his boyfriend prepared. Really playing with their lives here.
