Puppet Notes (Wearing Book) - 180

On Blue Star, when the light brain's camera is turned on, the camera automatically detaches from the optical brain, floating in midair. The owner doesn’t need to hold it in their hand.

When Qi Chao and Shen Yuxi descended the stairs, they were greeted by a chaotic scene.

In the living room, Qi Feng, Qi Ye, and Qi Yang were nowhere to be seen—only the puppets remained.

Moss, wrapped head to toe in bandages, stood there staring blankly and helplessly at the ground.

On the floor lay a beautifully crafted, adorable doll. Unfortunately, its right arm was detached from its body, with cotton stuffing spilling out.

Nearby, Agu and the world consciousness were busy blaming each other.

“This has nothing to do with Agu,” Agu said with a cheerful smile. “It’s all Xing Yu’s fault. If Big Brother wants to blame someone, blame Xing Yu.”

“Nonsense! It’s all because of you! If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have damaged Moss’s doll.”

Xing Yu’s face turned red, his guilty eyes darting toward Moss. The tear mole at the corner of his eye accentuated his expressive look, making it hard for anyone to blame him.

"How ridiculous. Agu didn’t force you to destroy Moss’s doll—it was entirely your own doing," Agu said.

Yet, his gaze also drifted toward Moss, and the usual cheer on his face faded slightly. Still, when facing Xing Yu, he maintained his stubborn tone.

Among the puppets, Li Bai and Qiu Qiu were known for their gentle personalities. They tried to mediate the situation, pulling the others apart while simultaneously comforting Moss.

Despite their best efforts, neither Agu nor Xing Yu was willing to back down or admit their fault.

It was at this moment that Qi Chao and Shen Yuxi descended the stairs. The moment the two guardians entered the living room, the air seemed to freeze for a moment. Agu and Xing Yu immediately lowered their voices.

Moss remained motionless, like a silent statue, his head bowed as he stared at the broken doll.

Though the children hadn’t explained what had happened, Qi Chao and Shen Yuxi could more or less piece things together from the scene before them. Sharing a glance, the two walked over to Moss.

Footsteps sounded and then stopped.

Moss snapped back to reality, lifting his head stiffly. When he saw the two parents, his dark eyes were filled with confusion and an unconscious sense of grievance. His lips, hidden beneath the bandages, trembled slightly as though he didn’t know what to say.

After a few seconds, Moss finally spoke. “Dad, Father, my doll is broken.”

His hoarse voice stated the obvious, as if, apart from this, he didn’t know how to express his feelings.

Hearing this, Qi Chao felt his heart ache, and even Shen Yuxi—who rarely concerned himself with such trivial matters—shifted his gaze subtly toward Agu and Xing Yu.

Agu and Xing Yu instantly stiffened, their backs straighten.

“Now, can the two of you explain to me exactly what happened?” Qi Chao gently ruffled Moss’s hair, then turned his gaze toward the two children as well, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “How did the doll break?”

Agu and Xing Yu hesitated, once again trying to shift the blame onto each other.

Under Qi Chao and Shen Yuxi's unwavering gazes, the words Agu and Xing Yu had been ready to blurt out got stuck in their throats, and they swallowed them back down.

Unable to bear the oppressive atmosphere, Agu quietly shuffled closer to Xiang Yue, seeking some comfort. Xiang Yue glanced at him but said nothing.

On the other side, Xing Yu noticed the annoying Agu's subtle movement. His fingers twitched slightly, and his gaze involuntarily shifted to Moss.

However, from where he stood, all Xing Yu could see was Moss’s back. The world consciousness hesitated, his lips parting as if to speak, but he ultimately said nothing.

Resigned, he lowered his head, ready to take whatever reprimand came his way.

Moss was the only one among the "annoying bunch" that Xing Yu genuinely liked. Originally, the world consciousness had no intention of angering Moss, but the fact remained—it was Xing Yu who had broken Moss’s doll.

Seeing that neither Agu nor Xing Yu was willing to explain, Lan Luo stepped forward to tell their fathers the truth.

In short, after Qi Chao and Shen Yuxi went upstairs, Agu started provoking Xing Yu again. Agu was adept at targeting weaknesses and sore spots with just a few cutting remarks, quickly pushing Xing Yu who lacked patience into a fury.

Moss’s doll had simply been an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire.

Agu and Xing Yu were causing a racket. Concerned that their father and dad upstairs might hear, Moss had stood up to stop the two puppets.

But unexpectedly, the doll in his arms was snatched away by Xing Yu and torn in two.

Xing Yu’s powers had been suppressed, and no one expected that, in his moment of extreme anger, he would accidentally grab Moss’s doll and successfully tear it apart.

“I didn’t mean to,” Xing Yu muttered, his head bowed and his voice barely audible.

Stubborn by nature and bearing the innate pride of someone accustomed to a position of power, these words—though sounding defensive—were essentially an explanation and an apology.

Agu’s emerald-green eyes curved into crescents as he smirked, fanning the flames with his teasing tone: “Oh, we know. You didn’t do it by accident, you did it on purpose.”

Xing Yu’s expression instantly darkened.

Seeing that the two were about to start arguing again, Qi Chao intervened. He reached out and gave each of them a light smack on the head. “Enough. No more fighting.”

It was the first time Xing Yu had ever been smacked on the head by a human. He covered his head, eyes wide with disbelief.

Agu, however, knew when to adapt and promptly replied in an obedient tone, “We won’t fight anymore, Dad.”

What a pair of troublemakers.

Qi Chao looked at the reactions of the two children and felt his hand itch again.

In the end, neither Agu nor Xing Yu had intentionally destroyed Moss’s doll, but their attitudes afterward were the real issue.

They both felt guilty but were too proud to apologize properly.

“Hold hands and apologize to Moss,” Qi Chao said with a stern expression. He looked at the two puppets, whose faces showed a mix of shock and resistance.

Seeing this, he reached out and gave them another light smack on their heads. “Hurry up. After you apologize, keep holding hands and stand in the corner to reflect.”

Neither the world consciousness nor Agu wanted to hold hands with the other, but they couldn’t defy Qi Chao.

On top of that, Moss’s silent, dejected figure weighed on their consciences, making them feel deeply uncomfortable.

After a moment of hesitation, the two puppets begrudgingly restrained their mutual disdain. With their sleeves barely touching, they shuffled reluctantly toward Moss.

“I didn’t mean to.”

The world consciousness repeated the same words, though a faint awkwardness crept into his tone. Under Qi Chao’s hawk-like gaze, he pressed his lips together and forced out a reluctant, “I’m…sorry.”

This was entirely Qi Chao’s doing.

His ears flushed red as he internally tried to rationalize his actions. Despite this, his eyes couldn’t help but sneak a glance at Moss.

When he noticed that Moss kept his head lowered, seemingly uninterested in acknowledging him, a heavy weight settled in his chest.

By contrast, Agu was relatively unbothered. After all, he wasn’t the one who had torn the doll in half. His only fault was provoking Xing Yu in the first place. Even if Moss chose to ignore him, Agu wouldn’t feel much.

The main reason, of course, was that Agu had long grown used to being disliked. As long as Dad and Xiang Yue liked him, Agu was perfectly content.

After the two puppets had made their apologies, Qi Chao sent them to the wall to stand and reflect on their actions.

Then he approached Moss, crouching slightly as he ruffled the boy’s hair and spoke in a soothing tone. “It’s okay. In a bit, I’ll sew the doll back together and give it a brand-new outfit. It’ll be as good as new.”

Qi Chao didn’t force Moss to forgive Xing Yu and Agu. After all, no law in the world dictates that an apology must be met with forgiveness.

Hearing that his stuff doll could be repaired, Moss’s bandaged fingers trembled slightly. He raised his head, and his dark eyes glimmered faintly with hope. However, his voice remained hoarse as he asked, “Really?”

“Of course. Don’t you trust Dad?”

Qi Chao chuckled softly as he picked up the torn doll from the floor. “I’ll have it fixed by tomorrow. Just wait patiently, Moss.”

The doll had experienced damage before.

Back then, it was Qi Chao who had mended it. This time, hearing Qi Chao say it could be restored left Moss with no reason to doubt him.

He pressed his lips together under the bandages, his tense demeanor easing ever so slightly.

Shen Yuxi chuckled softly.

The other puppets, hearing that Moss’s favorite doll could be repaired, also shared in the happiness—though this “others” specifically referred to Li Bai and Qiu Qiu.

The rest of the puppets weren’t particularly invested in Moss’s emotional changes but harbored at least a general sense of goodwill.

The floating camera faithfully recorded it all.

When Qi Chao and Shen Yuxi went upstairs to their room for a brief rest, they finally switched off the camera.

“Are you planning to upload the footage?” Shen Yuxi asked.

Qi Chao considered for a moment. Though the video mainly captured two troublemakers causing chaos, it did showcase the puppets’ unique personalities. After deliberating, he nodded. “Let’s upload it.”

But then he paused as another thought occurred to him. “Wait, no. We should edit it first.”

The footage included Shen Yuxi and puppets who weren’t supposed to appear on camera. If anyone from the association saw it, it could lead to complications.

What Qi Chao had thought of, Shen Yuxi naturally considered as well. Glancing at the doll missing an arm resting on the table, Shen Yuxi said warmly, “You handle fixing the doll, and I’ll take care of editing.”

Shen Yuxi was always meticulous in his work.

Qi Chao thought about it for a moment and didn’t refuse. After handing over the video to Shen Yuxi, he stood up and went to the wardrobe to get a needle and thread, intending to repair the doll.

Shen Yuxi, on the other hand, watched Qi Chao’s movements with interest. This was the first time he had seen Qi Chao work with needle and thread, and as Qi Chao expertly threaded the needle, he couldn’t help but want to laugh at how focused he looked.

Despite the earlier small incident in the living room, the atmosphere in the room now was quite pleasant.

Two or three hours later, the doll was repaired, and the video from the living room had quietly been uploaded to Qi Chao’s social media account.

Qi Chao: 【Troublemaking kids need discipline】【Video attached】

It was a big deal—after nearly half a year of silence, the legendary Qi Chao had posted again!

Fans who followed Qi Chao’s account, upon seeing the notification from their lightbrain, couldn’t believe their eyes at first. Then, their excitement surged wildly as they rushed to check the post.

After half a year, did the boss finally remember the password to his social media account?!

Fans excitedly rushed to Qi Chao’s account, eagerly clicking on the video, and they were immediately captivated by what they saw.

【Ah, this... it feels like going back to elementary school days.】

【So... many puppets! Even though the camera didn’t catch them all, aww, is the proud-looking puppet named Xing Yu a new creation by the boss? I love his teardrop mole.】

The video featured mainly three puppets: Moss, Agu, and Xing Yu. None of these puppets were familiar to the fans, but that didn’t stop them from swooning over their appearances.

For most fans online, they couldn’t afford to buy puppets, but their love for them was mainly driven by their looks.

All three of these puppets were stunning in their own right. Even the one wrapped in bandages, though covered, still had an impressive and unique figure.

【Aww, I feel so bad for him. His name is Moss, right? He really seems to love that doll. Those two troublemakers actually ruined Moss’s beloved doll!】

【I feel a little bad for Xing Yu. That kid is just pure tsundere, right? He’s a bit of a troublemaker, but after apologizing, his eager little expression and the lost look when he wasn’t forgiven really tug at my heart. Where did this little cutie come from?!】

【Hahaha, did you guys see the two puppets arguing? I’m dying! They looked like elementary school kids forced to hold hands by their teacher. The way they gave each other those disgusted side glances—just hilarious. I’ve never seen puppets so alive like this before!】

One video, and it had fans feeling heartache, swooning over appearances, and laughing out loud, but without a doubt, everyone agreed it was a very special video.

【Ah, why do I feel like these puppets are just like ordinary human kids? Whether it's arguing or refusing to admit they were wrong, it’s exactly how I was as a child. Was this staged?】

【No way, did you see how Qi Chao was educating the puppets? No way that’s staged. I have to say, I love Qi Chao's attitude.】

【Aww, I feel like Qi Chao is really good at raising kids. I knew he treated the puppets like children, but this is the first time I realized that their emotions are so rich. No wonder Qi Chao treats them like his kids.】

This comment received many likes from fans. Before this, no video had directly made them realize that puppets were so much like human children.

To them, puppets were like high-end toys displayed in exquisite glass cabinets—beautiful, lifelike, and expensive, deserving of human affection.

They admired puppets online, but at the same time, they considered them to be part of a different world, separate from their own. However, this video seemed to tell them that puppets and humans weren’t so different after all.

Puppets could be sad over a broken doll, argue with each other because of dislike, be too proud to apologize, and even reluctantly hold hands with someone they hated when forced by a parent.

It was a revelation to the fans: puppets were actually so much like humans.

This was the first time they had such a realization.

The influence of a master-level puppet maker was evident. Within just a few minutes of posting, fans had already boosted the post to trending, and soon after, a hot topic appeared:

#Puppets Are Actually So Much Like Humans#

This hashtag seemed somewhat ridiculous at first, as puppets were designed to resemble humans, so of course, they would look like them.

However, when curious onlookers clicked on the topic and saw the video of puppets arguing like elementary school children, many couldn't help but leave, wondering if their eyes were playing tricks on them.

Why did watching these puppets feel so similar to watching children?

Weren't puppets supposed to be like the ones in other livestreams, sitting silently like machines, gathering a heap of coins?

This noisy and chaotic scene was unheard of.

No matter how much the online community's perception of puppets was shaken, the video quickly went viral, even attracting the attention of other master-level puppet masters.

[Are the puppets you make this lively too?]

A message suddenly appeared from a friend outside the industry.

One of the master puppet masters, Eiliton, instinctively opened the video his friend had sent. He watched the entire thing from start to finish in silence, then paused for a moment before replying, "I don’t know."

He didn’t know if his own creations were as lively as that.

As a member of the royal family, Eiliton's S-level puppets were destined to die upon birth.

"Really? What a shame. From the looks of it, puppets really do resemble humans. How adorable."

At these words, Eiliton watched the video again.

It was clear from the video that the man truly loved his puppets. Whether they caused trouble or needed comfort, he showed an extraordinary amount of patience and care for them.

Eilidon knew that the person in the video was the most talented master puppet maker often discussed online, and the association had been eagerly hoping for him to join.

If Qi Chao truly loved puppets, then not joining the association was probably the best choice for him.

As Eilidon pondered this, his light brain vibrated again, and his thin fingers tapped the screen.

This time, it wasn't a message from a friend, but a system email.

"Dear Puppet Master, the annual royal banquet is approaching. We sincerely hope you can attend. The great emperor will personally award you the Puppet Master Medal for the year."

Eilidon stared at the ironic email, but his mind wandered back to the video he had just watched.

The puppet master in the video would likely receive the same email. He wondered whether he would choose to attend that carnivorous banquet.
