Cheng Mofei glanced at the movie title and its introduction; it seemed to be an inspirational comedy about a group of people. Since he hadn’t watched it before, he nodded and said, “Alright.”
Soon, the milk tea was delivered. Cheng Mofei went downstairs to get it, while Shen Yu obediently sat on the sofa in the movie room, waiting for him.
The central air conditioning worked quietly, with almost no sound of the wind.
In the darkness, Shen Yu had curled up most of his body into the sofa.
When Cheng Mofei returned, he saw Shen Yu, looking like a little hamster, curled up in the sofa. His dark eyes gleamed faintly in the thick darkness, staring directly at him.
Cheng Mofei couldn’t help but raise the corners of his mouth. He walked straight up to him and handed him the milk tea that was his.
Shen Yu sat up a little straighter, unwrapped the straw, and took a small sip.
It was the sweetness he liked.
Though he was still a bit full from lunch, he felt that having something to drink while watching the movie would set the right atmosphere.
Soon, a spot on the sofa next to Shen Yu sank down as Cheng Mofei sat down and pressed the play button for the movie.
The two were very close, but not so much that they were tightly pressed against each other.
Shen Yu didn’t like this awkward distance, neither too close nor too far. During the opening credits, he said, “Brother Fei, it’s a bit cold.”
Cheng Mofei didn’t feel cold, but since Shen Yu looked thin, he might be more sensitive to the cold. He didn’t want him to catch a cold, so he asked, “Do you want me to raise the temperature of the air conditioner?”
Shen Yu replied, “No need. If you have a blanket or something, I can cover myself with that.”
Cheng Mofei responded, “I have one. I’ll get it for you.”
After saying that, he stood up, grabbed a neatly arranged pillow blanket from the side, unwrapped it, and handed it to Shen Yu.
As Shen Yu covered himself with the blanket, he scooted a little closer to Cheng Mofei, leaning against him and covering him with a bit of the blanket as well.
Cheng Mofei wasn’t cold, but with the blanket on, he didn’t feel too warm either. In the air-conditioned room, watching a movie with a light blanket felt quite comfortable.
His junior was just being considerate, so he naturally didn’t refuse.
The goal of getting close was achieved, and Shen Yu, in a good mood, took another small sip of his milk tea.
His mood was as sweet as the full-sugar milk tea.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Cheng Mofei insert the straw into his milk tea and take a sip. Shen Yu deliberately asked, “How does it taste? Is it good?”
As Shen Yu had expected, Cheng Mofei immediately handed over his milk tea and said generously, “It’s not bad. Try it.”
Sharing drinks between brothers was nothing out of the ordinary, and neither of them had any hygiene concerns.
Shen Yu took the straw in his mouth and had a sip.
The sweetness, of course, wasn’t enough, but with Cheng Mofei’s “buff” bonus, the sweetness was somewhat acceptable.
“Try mine too,” Shen Yu said, returning the gesture, handing over his milk tea.
Shen Yu purposely held his hand a little lower, so Cheng Mofei couldn’t directly drink from the cup. He had no choice but to grab the hand holding the cup, lifting it slightly.
In the air-conditioned room, Cheng Mofei’s hand was warmer than usual, making Shen Yu’s hand feel nice and toasty.
Cheng Mofei took a sip, smacked his lips, and commented, “So sweet. This is my first time having full-sugar, and it’s not as sickly sweet as I imagined.”
Shen Yu smiled but said nothing.
There would be many more opportunities to drink full-sugar milk tea in the future.
On the screen, the movie quickly got to the main plot.
It was a group ensemble film set in a college campus, telling the story of a group of university students who worked together to chase their dreams.
At the beginning, the male and female lead were portrayed as mortal enemies due to a misunderstanding, their relationship marked by constant clashes.
Shen Yu, however, didn’t pay much attention to them. His mind wandered a bit, and his focus was entirely on waiting for the second and third male characters to appear.
The second and third male characters didn’t have much screen time, but their relationship was very sweet.
They were roommates who had already developed feelings for each other, though neither of them realized it at first, both thinking the other was just their best friend.
As the relationship between the male and female lead developed, the second and third male characters eventually confessed their feelings and ended up together.
The first scene was quite intense. After a sex education class, the second and third male characters, curious, helped each other in the dorm bathroom.
They were interrupted by the male lead, who knocked on the door, setting off the main storyline that followed.
The film had been slightly edited, stopping just as the two were about to go to the bathroom to help each other, cutting directly to the scene where the male lead knocks on the door.
Shen Yu took a quick glance at Cheng Mofei, and was surprised to find that his expression didn’t seem off at all. At least, it wasn’t uncomfortable like when he had seen the manga at Cheng Zhiya’s house earlier. He appeared perfectly normal.
It was a bit strange.
Although the scene had been edited, the “helping each other” part was still pretty obvious. How could Cheng Mofei have no reaction at all?
Two guys doing something like that... wouldn’t Cheng Mofei find it disgusting?
With his curiosity piqued, Shen Yu didn’t dare ask anything directly and could only wait for the next scene to see if there were more clues.
In the second scene, the second male lead was accidentally hit by a car, injuring his leg.
The third male lead carried him to and from class every day, and they also worked together with the male and female lead on group assignments outside of school.
He jokingly said that he took better care of him than his partner did, to which the second male lead playfully hit the third male lead on the shoulder and teased that maybe his partner would break up with him, but that brothers were for life and should be taken more seriously.
In reality, the two were already starting to grow close, and their words were subtly testing the waters, just shy of confessing.
Shen Yu glanced at Cheng Mofei again.
Great, finally, a reaction.
But... why was he smiling???
One man carrying another on his back while saying flirtatious, suggestive things—what exactly was Cheng Mofei smiling about?
Shen Yu nearly bent his milk tea straw out of shape, a vague but unsettling suspicion beginning to form in his mind.
No rush, no rush.
There was still the final scene—the confession between the two male characters at sunrise.
Once he saw two men confessing their feelings, Cheng Mofei should be unable to keep smiling, right?
Shen Yu waited, waited, and finally, the protagonists received approval for their project and went up the mountain to watch the sunrise in celebration.
By this time, the male and female lead had already mutually confessed and become a couple.
They walked hand in hand, with wedding rings on their ring fingers symbolizing a lifetime commitment, while the second and third male leads were standing closely by their side.
Finally, the first light of dawn broke across the horizon, and the sun slowly began to rise, casting the first ray of sunshine. The male and female lead embraced and kissed, filled with joy and love.
Then, the scene shifted, moving to the campus, and the film began its twist and conclusion.
Shen Yu: "?"
What happened to the confession between the second and third male leads??? Did they cut it all out???
What was he even watching then?
Shen Yu was on the verge of exploding, gritting his teeth as he endured the final bits of the movie.
Finally, just as Shen Yu felt he was about to lose it, the movie ended.
As the credits rolled, Cheng Mofei commented, “It was okay. The portrayal of love, family, and friendship was well done.”
Shen Yu took a deep breath, and to avoid letting the two hours be a total waste, he casually asked, "Brother Fei, which couple do you like the most?"
Apart from the main couple and the second and third male leads, there were a few other heterosexual couples in the movie.
Cheng Mofei stroked his chin and replied, "They all seem pretty much the same, all quite sweet. But I actually like Lucas and Aiden the most..."
Shen Yu's heart instantly leapt to his throat.
Lucas and Aiden were the names of the second and third male leads.
Cheng Mofei: "Their relationship is really good, they are good brothers for life."
Shen Yu: "…"
Haha.
Of course, Cheng Mofei, the idiot, really took their "brotherhood" at face value.
They're practically bent into a crescent moon, and he's still calling them "good brothers."
Shen Yu made a hard effort to remind himself not to be angry, not to be angry, not to get upset.
Nineteen-year-old Cheng Mofei was just a complete fool—he shouldn’t argue with an idiot.
After calming himself down, Shen Yu continued probing, "Brother Fei, don't you think there's something a bit strange about them?"
Cheng Mofei: "Hmm? What’s wrong? What’s strange?"
Shen Yu pressed his lips together, "Well, after their sex education class, they actually... actually helped each other with that kind of thing."
Shen Yu didn’t dare make it too obvious, so he only hinted around the topic. After all, given how much was cut from the film, for him to still catch onto the subtle romantic tension between the two, it was a bit too “non-straight” of him.
Cheng Mofei blinked at his words, then suddenly leaned closer, startling Shen Yu. He instinctively shrank back, his eyes darting elsewhere.
Cheng Mofei’s smile grew wider, and his expression took on a teasing tone, almost like he was playfully provoking a naïve young wife. His words became a bit more playful: “I remember you’re of legal age.”
Some students were younger, with some freshmen not even turning 18 yet, but Shen Yu had already reached the legal age. His birthday was June 1st, Children’s Day, easy to remember with just a glance.
Shen Yu bit his lip tightly, unsure why Cheng Mofei suddenly brought up this age thing.
What did it have to do with anything?
He understood Cheng Mofei, but at the same time, didn’t quite understand the deep closet side of Cheng Mofei, always feeling like he’d say something shocking when he least expected it.
The next moment, a warm hand wrapped around his.
The owner of the hand spoke, "You haven't taken care of it yourself, have you, Junior? Sexual impulses and physiological needs are completely normal."
Shen Yu: "…"
So, Cheng Mofei had mistaken him for someone who knew nothing at all.
But... is that really the focus here?
Shen Yu’s eyes widened slightly. "Is it the same to take care of it myself or it is to have someone else help me? Would Brother Fei help me with that?"
When he said that last sentence, he was no longer in a good mood.
