The Evil Cub Surrounded by Reborn Ones- Chapter 18

 TECSBRO-(18)

During the craft class, Rong Que made a small paper bunny from colored paper.

These crafts might be somewhat complex for the children, but Rong Que, being an adult, created something more delicate.

Lu Xu followed the instructions in the book, cutting step by step.

He was trying hard to make a sky lantern.

However, his fingers were short, making it difficult even to handle the scissors.

Rong Que, who had finished his craft early, glanced at Lu Xu, whose fingers were turning red from gripping the scissors too tightly, and said, "Let me help you?"

Lu Xu shook his head, "Thank you, Rong Que gege. Little Lu can do it by himself."

Lu Xu didn't know where he had heard before that sky lanterns could make wishes come true.

So, he had to make it himself for it to work, right?

Seeing Lu Xu working so earnestly, Rong Que didn't say anything and patiently sat next to him.

Observing Lu Xu's fingers turning increasingly red from the effort, Rong Que furrowed his brows. He left his seat and asked the teacher for a band-aid.

Preschools always have these things on hand. Teacher Li thought Rong Que had injured himself and asked with concern, "Rong Que, did you cut yourself? Let the teacher help you clean it and apply some disinfectant."

Rong Que shook his head, "I'm not injured."

After a moment of hesitation, he added, "Thank you, teacher."

Then, he turned back to his seat.

However, he hadn't expected Tao Yue to be sitting in his place, seemingly talking and laughing with Lu Xu.

Rong Que felt an unnamed anger rising. Tao Yue had deliberately provoked Lu Xu earlier, and now, with just a brief absence, he had seized the opportunity.

Walking over quickly, Rong Que saw Lu Xu looking up and responding to Tao Yue.

Lu Xu didn't show any signs of discomfort.

While Rong Que felt relieved, he still couldn't shake off a sense of unease, for reasons he couldn't quite pinpoint.

Tao Yue, noticing Rong Que's return, whispered something to Lu Xu as if suggesting they would talk later. However, his voice was not low enough to prevent Rong Que from hearing.

Returning to his seat, Rong Que, though displeased, didn't take it out on Lu Xu. Instead, he pulled Lu Xu's hand, placing the band-aid on the reddened area.

Lu Xu was a bit puzzled about what was happening. He looked up with blinking eyes and said, "Rong Que gege, Little Lu is not hurt."

"It's to prevent it from getting worse," Rong Que said in a somewhat cold tone, finishing his words expressionlessly before turning his attention back to his book.

He was unhappy, but he didn't want to show it and could only shift his focus.

Looking at the band-aid on his hand, Lu Xu opened and closed the scissors a few times, realizing they no longer hurt his hand.

After some thought, Lu Xu turned around and smiled at Rong Que, "Thank you, Rong Que gege. Little Lu doesn't hurt anymore."

Rong Que just made a light sound in acknowledgment without lifting his head.

Although Lu Xu's mental capacity wasn't large, he could clearly sense that Rong Que gege was not in a good mood.

As he continued with the craft, he inadvertently cut a piece of paper wrongly.

Looking at the torn piece of paper, Lu Xu finally figured out the answer.

He moved his small stool closer to Rong Que and said, "Rong Que gege, don't be angry. Tao Yue just apologized to me."

Rong Que wasn't really angry at Lu Xu; he just didn't understand why he felt a bit upset.

However, he couldn't fathom Tao Yue's apology being sincere.

Rong Que sighed, turned his head, and earnestly looked at Lu Xu, saying, "You will have many friends in the future. You don't need to be friends with bad kids who make you unhappy."

Rong Que said this without intentionally avoiding Tao Yue; it was meant for him to hear.

Behind them, Tao Yue just smiled, seeming to find it amusing.

Lu Xu nodded, not fully understanding.

Lu Xu was aware that Rong Que was worried about him, especially after Tao Yue's inappropriate comments.

Seeing that Lu Xu seemed to take his words to heart, Rong Que closed his own book and continued to accompany Lu Xu in crafting.

Finally able to concentrate on the craft, Lu Xu felt relieved. Rong Que gege wasn't happy, and it was affecting his ability to cut the paper properly.

When the bell for the end of the class rang, Lu Xu managed to finish his craft just in time.

It was a not-so-exquisite but very cute sky lantern—short and chubby.

Teacher Li surveyed the room and said, "In the next class, we will have an outdoor activity. Put your crafts on the desks. If you haven't finished, you can take them home and finish them with your parents."

Excited cheers echoed in the classroom.

Everyone loved outdoor classes.

"Okay, children, line up in the corridor, hold hands, and walk to the playground in an orderly manner," Teacher Li announced, clapping her hands as usual.

The children promptly lined up in the corridor between the desks.

Lu Xu reluctantly set down the sky lantern in his hands. He hadn't had the chance to make a wish yet.

But Lu Xu was a well-behaved and rule-abiding child. He obediently joined the line with the others.

Rong Que wanted to stand next to Lu Xu, but according to the order, Cai You and Lu Xu were in the same line, while Rong Que and Tao Yue were together.

Rong Que didn't switch places with Cai You.

He wasn't concerned about Lu Xu playing with Cai You; after all, they were both children.

Standing next to Tao Yue, on the other hand, made it more convenient for Rong Que to observe him.

After all the children had come out of their seats and lined up, Teacher Li took the hand of the girl at the front and said, "Everyone, hold hands and leave the classroom together."

Lu Xu hadn't held hands with anyone yet, but Cai You was outgoing and didn't give Lu Xu any time to hesitate. He immediately grabbed Lu Xu's hand, and they walked together.

As for Rong Que and Tao Yue, they probably both guessed each other's identities. Two opposing adults holding hands was out of the question. They didn't look at each other and walked separately.

However, the children in the kindergarten class were very obedient. A child behind immediately raised their hand and said, "Teacher Li, Tao Yue is not holding hands with his classmate!"

Upon hearing this, Rong Que's expression stiffened for a moment, and he quietly moved even further away from Tao Yue. Tao Yue, on the other hand, seemed equally unwilling and stood firm outside the line.

Teacher Li turned around, noticing that Tao Yue had always been the most stubborn student in the class, but he hadn't caused any trouble before. Last week, he even obediently held hands with a classmate on the way home. What happened today? There was now a gap of one line between him and Rong Que.

Teacher Li kindly reminded, "Children, make sure to hold hands, or you might get lost or bump into table corners."

However, neither Tao Yue nor Rong Que budged.

Rong Que silently observed the other, and suddenly, Tao Yue turned to look at him, flashing a peculiar smile.

Tao Yue raised his hand and said, "Teacher, I just want to hold hands with Lu Xu."
