Brother, you smell good - 76

Cheng Mofei's eyes snapped open in shock, but he quickly shut them again out of nervousness. His body felt as stiff as if he had been frozen in the snow all night.

Shen Yu… Shen Yu was kissing him.

So soft...

Who knew how long it would take for this clueless big dog, Cheng Mofei, to finally figure things out? Shen Yu simply couldn’t hold back any longer.

Since childhood, no one had ever kissed him. In his heart, a kiss was something very precious, no matter where it was placed.

Especially on the lips.

He liked kissing Cheng Mofei and loved the passionate way Cheng Mofei responded.

Even if, right now, Cheng Mofei was still just an innocent blockhead.

Cheng Mofei was so nervous he forgot to breathe and felt like he was about to suffocate.

Even so, he found it utterly sweet, so long as Shen Yu kept kissing him.

Sensing something was off, Shen Yu blinked, lowered his heels back to the ground, and pulled away from his lips.

"Open your eyes. Breathe."

Cheng Mofei obediently opened his eyes, his lips slightly parted as he took deep, desperate breaths. His ears were so red they looked like they might start dripping blood.

Shen Yu's eyes shimmered with amusement as he tilted his head slightly, meeting his gaze.

Getting this flustered over just a simple lip touch—what would happen when they kissed with their tongues?

Would he turn completely red, like a fruit ripening on the vine?

Still, kissing on the first day of their relationship was at a pretty fast pace. For someone like Cheng Mofei, who had been single for all nineteen years of his life, getting shy was only natural.

As his body finally caught up with the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide, Cheng Mofei's chest gradually stopped heaving. His Adam’s apple bobbed, and from his lowered gaze, his long lashes cast shadows over the heat simmering in his eyes.

His voice came out slightly hoarse, tinged with a rough and undeniable sensuality—

“…Can I kiss you again?”

When he said the word "kiss," his voice instinctively softened.

Yet, in the quiet and secluded surroundings, even the slightest sound was crystal clear.

Shen Yu chuckled helplessly and reminded him, “Sometimes, you don’t have to be this polite.”

Cheng Mofei suddenly recalled how Shen Yu had once described the person he liked, ‘Very polite, very reliable, very cute.’ It took him a moment to process the realization.

So, this was how he appeared in Shen Yu’s eyes?

They say love makes people see their beloved as the most beautiful. Had he always been this way in Shen Yu’s heart?

And to think he had racked his brain, trying every possible way to become Shen Yu’s type… How foolish.

Cheng Mofei swallowed hard, forcefully pushing these unnecessary thoughts out of his mind.

Shen Yu’s response was as good as an approval for his "kiss request."

Without hesitation, Cheng Mofei swiftly grabbed Shen Yu’s arm, nervous yet eager. Taking the plunge, he clumsily pressed his lips against Shen Yu’s once more.

He had only ever seen people kiss on a screen before—he had no real experience. Just like when he had kissed Shen Yu’s cheek before, he would kiss, pull away, then kiss again, then pull away…

Shen Yu’s eyes curved with laughter, feeling like he was being pecked over and over by a little woodpecker.

Seriously… he was too cute.

To prevent his lips from getting swollen from all the pecking, Shen Yu finally called for a timeout after who-knows-how-many kisses.

“It’s a bit cold. Let’s head back to the car first.”

Cheng Mofei was still a little reluctant to stop, but there was no rush. Once the bed curtains arrived, he would be able to kiss Shen Yu every day.

That night, Cheng Mofei curled up under his blankets, reading under a lamp as he diligently studied everything there was to know about kissing.

A few days later, the bed curtains that Room 520 had ordered finally arrived.

Shen Yu’s bed curtain had a chibi hamster pattern, Cheng Mofei’s was decorated with cute little oranges, Sun Xinghe’s was a simple, solid color with no design, and Xiao Xiong’s… was a royal golden curtain embroidered with the three grand characters—"Golden Palace."

Xiao Xiong wasted no time setting up his extravagant bed curtain. Sitting on his bed, he squinted his eyes with an air of superiority and deliberately lowered his voice.

“From now on, every morning when I wake up, I’ll be attending court.”

Sun Xinghe shot him a sidelong glance. “So what, does that mean every night someone has to be sent to your bed to serve you?”

Xiao Xiong grinned mischievously. “You guys can take turns.”

Meanwhile, Cheng Mofei had already slipped into Shen Yu’s bed curtain. Upon hearing this, he poked his head out without hesitation and declared, “Don’t even think about my boyfriend.”

Xiao Xiong: “……”

Tilting his head back at a perfect 45-degree angle, Xiao Xiong let out a sorrowful sigh.

“I really miss the days when we were all straight men.”

"You can reminisce on your own," Cheng Mofei said before swiftly closing the bed curtain. Then, without hesitation, he leaned in and pecked Shen Yu on the lips.

What was so great about being straight, anyway?

If he were straight, he wouldn’t be able to kiss Shen Yu.

Ever since that night at the hot spring, when he had personally witnessed that senior high school student helping Shen Yu up, Cheng Mofei hadn't been able to get it out of his mind.

Now that he was finally officially with Shen Yu, having the rightful title of boyfriend, he wasn’t about to let things slide.

So, on Saturday night, he sent Shen Yu a message and went straight to pick him up.

Since the student’s home was near a subway station, Cheng Mofei opted to take the subway instead of driving.

After all, driving for long periods wasn’t great for his back. His waist still hadn’t fully recovered—he couldn’t afford to be careless.

The subway was well-heated, making it comfortably warm inside. At this hour, there weren’t many people around, so whether he wanted to sit or stand, it was entirely up to him.

Shen Yu hadn’t wanted Cheng Mofei to go through all this trouble—after all, the roads were icy and slippery in the cold weather. But by the time he received the message, Cheng Mofei had already left, leaving him no choice but to accept it.

After explaining the last problem to the student, Shen Yu glanced at the time and asked, “Is there anything else you don’t understand?”

The student shook his head but hesitated, looking as if he wanted to say something but couldn’t quite get the words out.

Shen Yu noticed and asked, “What is it?”

The student averted his gaze and muttered in a small voice, “Uh… Teacher, I saw the post you made on your Moments… the one announcing your relationship.”

Shen Yu immediately understood. He had indeed added his students on WeChat for convenience, so they could reach out to him anytime they had questions. He hadn’t set any privacy restrictions on his Moments, so it was completely normal for the student to see the post.

Of course, there was some risk in being this open. Some students or their parents might not accept his sexual orientation and could decide to terminate his tutoring services.

But he wasn’t afraid.

He had the skills to back himself up. The semester was almost over, and the students he tutored had made significant improvements in chemistry. Beyond chemistry, he was also proficient in other science subjects and could offer guidance when needed. If anything, they needed him more than he needed them.

And he had a safety net now. Unlike when he had first been reborn and worried about affording his next meal, he knew he could always bring a lunchbox and crash at his mom’s place for food.

Besides, Cheng Mofei had promised to work hard and earn even more money—more than what he had given him in his past life.

So, Shen Yu asked directly, without hesitation, “Are you homophobic?”

The student quickly shook his head. “No, no, not at all!”

The student fidgeted constantly, scratching his face and then his head. “It’s just… I’m a little curious about what it’s like to date someone of the same gender.”

At this age, it was normal to be curious about these things.

Shen Yu thought for a moment before answering, “It’s no different from being in a heterosexual relationship. You meet someone who makes your heart race, someone you want to be with forever. It just so happens that their gender is the same as yours.”

The student nodded in a dazed sort of way, still unsure but too embarrassed to continue the topic. Rubbing his nose awkwardly, he urged in a small voice, “Teacher, you should pack up and head home. It’s getting late.”

Shen Yu chuckled and agreed, quickly gathering his things and slipping his bag over his shoulder.

As he stepped into the entryway to change his shoes, he pulled open the door—

Only to see a figure standing at the gate of the courtyard, staring straight at him.

At some point, the sky had begun to sprinkle snowflakes again.

Northern snow was dry, landing lightly on clothes, only to be shaken off with a quick brush. Cheng Mofei, as usual, hadn’t bothered with an umbrella.

The student beside Shen Yu also noticed the figure standing outside the gate. Then, after a quick glance at Shen Yu’s expression, he immediately put two and two together.

Without thinking, he blurted out, “Teacher’s wife—uh, no, Teacher’s partner is here to pick you up.”

Shen Yu was caught off guard by the title and burst into laughter, his eyes curving with amusement.

He had no idea if Cheng Mofei had overheard it or not.

After changing into his shoes, Shen Yu slung his bag over his shoulder and strode toward Cheng Mofei.

Without a word, Cheng Mofei took his hand the moment he reached him. His gaze flickered briefly toward the student still standing at the doorway before he swiftly led Shen Yu away.

As they walked, he spoke in a deliberately sour tone, “What were you laughing so happily about? What did he say to you?”

Shen Yu caught a hint of something in the air, and his smile widened even further, a playful glint in his eyes. He didn’t answer right away, enjoying the moment of teasing.

Cheng Mofei abruptly stopped walking, his voice tinged with unmistakable hurt. “You’ve never smiled at me like that.”

The heavy scent of jealousy hit Shen Yu so hard that it made him laugh even harder, almost giving him a stomachache.

Cheng Mofei quickly raised his hand and gave Shen Yu’s face a light pinch, clearly not wanting him to keep laughing.

Finally, Shen Yu stopped teasing and explained with a smile, “He said, ‘Teacher’s wife is here to pick me up.’”

Cheng Mofei: “……”

The sourness in Cheng Mofei disappeared instantly, and he tried to regain his composure, making an exaggerated "oh" sound as he continued walking toward the subway entrance with Shen Yu.

He fought hard against the smile that was trying to creep up the corners of his lips.

That student… he was bound to achieve great things in the future.
