After Being Stranded in the Wilderness, I Became the Bride of the Giant Tribe - 136

The tribe was pitch black, with a bean-sized fire in the central courtyard.

The north wind howled, and the fire in the kitchen gradually died down.

Huo Duo'er carried the dish tray, carefully pushed open the door.

Inside, Yu Bai still maintained the sitting position from earlier, meeting the orc's gaze, his eyes immediately lit up with a smile, pulling out a foldable small table from the foot of the bed.

A plate of sweet and sour pork ribs stewed with spinach fruit, a bowl of egg drop soup, and a plate of slightly spicy pickled cucumbers, paired with the new rice harvested this autumn, the grains full of water, crystal clear, round and glutinous.

Huo Duo'er scooped a few ribs covered in sauce onto the rice, added a few more spoonfuls of sauce to mix, and handed the spoon to Yu Bai.

Yu Bai swallowed, took the spoon, and began to eat with his head down.

He ate quickly, but his movements were not messy; instead, they carried a hint of elegance.

Huo Duo'er, worried that he might choke, felt the temperature of the egg drop soup was just right and fed him a few sips.

Yu Bai sipped the soup from the edge of the bowl, his slightly upturned lips still dotted with grains of rice. He then lowered his head and continued to eat heartily.

"Bai, what else would you like to eat? I'll prepare it for you tomorrow," Huo Duo'er asked.

After swallowing the food in his mouth, Yu Bai thought seriously for a moment and replied, "Just follow our usual routine. I enjoy anything you cook."

He patted his slightly bulging stomach and added, "Tonight's late-night snack was an exception. Eating late at night often burdens the stomach, so it shouldn't become a habit."

Hearing this, Huo Duo'er abandoned the idea of preparing midnight snacks every day and decided to vary the three daily meals and perhaps make some snacks.

As the weather turned cold, Yu Bai rarely went out.

Like a cat, he spent his days indoors, sometimes lounging lazily in a recliner with a thick, soft wolf pelt under his feet, a small blanket over him, and a bowl of cut fruit in his arms, nibbling slowly.

Other times, he curled up in bed, tilting his head and gradually closing his eyes.

He had slept little in the past few days, but recently, he felt drowsy, his eyelids heavy as if glued together, and he could fall asleep within minutes.

After nearly half a month of eating, drinking, and sleeping, Yu Bai felt he couldn't continue like this.

He began to insist on walking in the yard, and Huo Duo'er would accompany him for a few laps. After warming up, he would first go to the storeroom to fetch some processed medicinal herbs, then take out blank sheets of paper, bind them into a notebook, and use a charcoal pencil to jot down the effects of the herbs and sketch simple diagrams.

When Huo Duo'er brought in hot water, he found Yu Bai asleep at the desk, the notebook already fallen to the floor.

His gaze softened as he gently carried his orc mate back to bed, picked up the charcoal pencil and notebook, and silently tidied the room.

Yu Bai, who had just lain down, rubbed his eyes and sat up.

"I fell asleep again," he said.

Huo Duo'er approached him. "Bai, did I wake you?"

Yu Bai shook his head.

He touched his unchanged stomach, troubled by his recent appetite and sleepiness, and said, "I can't keep sleeping like this; my bones are turning soft."

Huo Duo'er wanted to say it didn't matter, a soft and cuddly Bai was adorable.

Yu Bai's eyes lit up. "I know what we can do!"

He grabbed the orc's wrist and then raised his arm, gesturing.

"Let's make a small bed, and some little clothes and shoes. Huo Duo'er, you'll help me prepare them, won't you?"

Huo Duo'er nodded. "Yes."

Yu Bai spread out blank sheets of paper, pondering, sometimes discussing with Huo Duo'er who sat beside him.

After finalizing a rough design, he began to draw, stroke by stroke, outlining the clothing patterns.

Huo Duo'er stayed by his side throughout, and the drawing took three days.

Before Yu Bai finished the clothing designs, Huo Duo'er found some wood, sanded it clean, and made a body model according to the size of a young cub.

Skilled in woodworking and with strong hands, he completed the model in less than half an hour.

Yu Bai watched as Huo Duo'er placed the finished model by the bedside, circling around it with delight.

"Huo Duo'er, you're amazing."

He hadn't even mentioned the idea of making a model, yet Huo Duo'er, as a native orc, had thought of this method to make it easier for him to tailor clothes.

With the blueprint drawn, they could now officially start making the clothes.

Inside the room, two large wardrobes stood against the wall. One held the clothes of both Yu Bai and Huo Duo'er, while the other was filled with fabrics.

Now that one was the chief and the other the priest, they had no shortage of fabrics.

Some were sent by the tribe, and others were privately hunted by Huo Duo'er on ordinary days. The fabrics were thickly stacked in the wardrobe, all tanned and ready to use at any time, even if mistakes were made.

For several days, Yu Bai stayed indoors, holding the fabrics and making clothes, while Huo Duo'er rarely went out, focusing all his energy on his orc mate.

Whenever Yu Bai opened his mouth, Huo Duo'er would feed him. Half a month passed, and the flesh on his cheeks visibly increased, his chin becoming rounder.

The weather was cold, and Yu Bai's weekly major class had been changed to once every half month, starting at nine in the morning and ending before noon.

After he became pregnant, Huo Duo'er suggested he rest more, but Yu Bai still wanted to attend the classes.

Finally, after discussion, they compromised, changing the class to once every half month.

That morning, Huo Duo'er took Yu Bai, bundled up in thick clothes, out of the house. He carried a linen bag containing Yu Bai's notebook and charcoal pencil for the class.

On the way, they met Xiu and Ze, who were also going to the major class.

Man, who usually stuck close to Ze like a big wolfdog, couldn't sit still with his fiery temper and had complained about the classes being boring after attending a few.

The winter of the southern continent posed no real harm to the giant tribe. While Ze attended the class, Man took a few tribesmen to hunt in the mountains, releasing his pent-up energy.

Xiu and Ze greeted Huo Duo'er and Yu Bai.

Soon, they noticed that Big Huo was different from usual, being extra protective of Bai.

Although he was always protective, today he seemed more nervous.

"Big Huo, what's wrong with Bai?"

Xiu expressed his concern without reservation.

Yu Bai was the tribe's most precious treasure, and no orc was indifferent to their priest.

Huo Duo'er paused, looking down at his orc mate with a soft gaze.

"Bai is pregnant."

Xiu and Ze's eyes widened in unison: "...Ah!"

Not only was Big Huo nervous, but they were also getting anxious.

Heavens, Bai truly was the priest most favored by the Orc God, even with his sub-female physique, he could carry an orc child.

They felt both proud and anxious.

Xiu even seriously suggested: "Big Huo, let's take Bai back to rest."

Ze also nodded: "It's too cold now, Bai mustn't catch a chill."

Yu Bai looked up, raising his clumsy arm and waving it weakly.

Under the gaze of the tall and strong male orcs, he meekly said, "I... I want to attend the class..."

Huo Duo'er picked him up: "Let's go."

Xiu and Ze exchanged a glance and quickly followed.

They both thought: After class today, they must gather some good things to send to Huo Da and Bai's home.

Yu Bai observed Huo Duo'er, Xiu, and Ze with a tense expression, silently burying his face in his scarf, feeling rather embarrassed.
