| GB | Third Trimester | 137 | Ex. 13
After the class ended, the news of Yu Bai being pregnant with a cub spread throughout the tribe.
Winter was the time for staying indoors, and within a few days, the orcs were all discussing the matter, expressing surprise yet finding it reasonable.
After all, the Orc God favored their Priest Bai so much, and as a sub-female orc, it was no wonder that Priest Bai was pregnant with a cub.
Just like Xiu and Ze, the orcs sent their best items to the priest's courtyard.
Yu Bai was both amused and exasperated, sitting in a chair and looking at the mountain of gifts. He picked a few to keep as a token of appreciation and had Huo Duo'er return the rest.
This way, he accepted the orcs' goodwill without letting the excess resources go to waste.
Nowadays, their household lacked nothing. The monthly supplies from the tribe were more than enough for their needs, and with Huo Duo'er bringing back plenty from his hunts, their private storeroom was well-stocked.
As Huo Duo'er put it, his mate could not suffer. A male orc who couldn't provide for his mate was incompetent.
So, no matter how busy he was over the past two years, he always made time to go out regularly and fill their storeroom bit by bit.
Now, with the tribe's orcs sending so many gifts, there was simply no space to store them all.
Huo Duo'er was outside, sending away the gray mouse orcs who had come to deliver gifts. He planned to call a few tribesmen to help return the items.
As soon as the gray mouse orcs left, Man arrived with Ze.
Man was incredibly curious about Yu Bai's belly and insisted on being the godfather to the cub in his womb.
If it weren't for Ze holding him back, he and the little wolf would have squatted on either side of Yu Bai, eager to touch the thin belly and express their curiosity.
So, whenever Huo Duo'er saw Man, he would shut the door, not allowing him to lay a finger on his mate.
A’Liao, seeing this, happily joined in the teasing.
"Man, you should go back and look at Ze's belly instead. Be careful, or Big Huo might assign you to the first-level hunting zone next time."
The hunting zones were divided into five levels based on danger, with the first level being the most perilous. Even the strongest male orcs would lose a few layers of skin before coming out.
Thus, the first-level hunting zone wasn't for hunting but for training the combat abilities of male orcs.
Man withdrew his eager fingers: "I see Ze's belly every day."
Ze smiled slightly and pulled the big guy up from beside him.
"Man, I don't want to go to the first-level hunting zone with you."
Man: "..."
Huo Duo'er led Yu Bai inside and shut the door without a word.
It was nap time, and no one was allowed to disturb his Bai.

In the wild continent, the pregnancy period for orcs was generally seven months. Yu Bai conceived in January, and by the end of next summer, the cub in his belly would likely be born.
During this period, he needed to focus on recuperating his body.
Throughout the winter, except for attending lectures, he stayed indoors. Every afternoon, or when the weather cleared up slightly, he would take a walk along the inner courtyard.
Yu Bai's personality was naturally introverted and quiet, so staying indoors wasn't particularly taxing for him, especially with Huo Duo'er's company.
It wasn't until green moss began to sprout along the eaves, the territory was drenched in days and nights of light rain, mist drifted across the mountains and fields, and the trees in front of the door sprouted new buds that the new year's spring arrived.
After the start of spring, following over two months of busyness, Yu Bai's previously uneventful belly suddenly began to show some changes.
His soft, thin belly slightly bulged, revealing a gentle, rounded curve, though it wasn't very noticeable and didn't resemble the large, protruding belly one might imagine.
Apart from this, the orc cub didn't add much burden to him.
At this time, some orcs were busy farming in the fields, so Yu Bai's walking route shifted from the courtyard to the ridges of the farmland.
Now, not only was Huo Duo'er concerned about him, but even the tribesmen’s were as well.
Sometimes, when they spotted him from afar, they would hurriedly clear the stones from the path, fearing he might trip and fall. The orcs reporting work to him would lower their voices, their rough tones softened to a gentle whisper.
While everyone else was tense, Yu Bai, on the contrary, felt more at ease.
Not long into early summer, Yu Bai suddenly became particularly sensitive to heat, and his belly grew slightly rounder.
He usually enjoyed sleeping close to Huo Duo'er's chest to absorb the warmth, but now that the heat had set in, he couldn't wait to keep his distance—it was just too hot.
Due to the summer heat, his appetite wasn't as good as it had been a few months prior, and the plumpness in his cheeks disappeared within days.
In two more months, the orc cub would be born, but Yu Bai's belly still didn't seem to grow much larger, only slightly more rounded than when he was full from eating.
He couldn't help but worry, and Huo Duo'er was equally at a loss, quickly summoning Mian for advice.
After clarifying the situation, they learned that this was normal—some female orcs didn't develop a significantly large belly even when carrying a cub. Reassured, the two first-time fathers finally felt a bit more at ease.
At night, with the fire still burning in the room, Yu Bai leaned back in a reclining chair, his loose orc robe draped down to his waist, his legs soaking in a basin.
As he entered the late stages of pregnancy, his legs and feet began to swell slightly. Huo Duo'er insisted on soaking them in warm water every day, massaging them gently on his knees.
After a while in the hot water, Yu Bai would feel too warm, his emotions simmering in his eyes, which the ever-watchful orc noticed.
Since there was no ice in the south, Huo Duo'er could only fetch a basin of cool water from the well, dividing it into two bowls with dried fruit and milk floating on top. Once the fruit became slightly chilled and coated with the thick milk, he stirred it and fed it to Yu Bai.
Huo Duo'er fanned him with a palm-leaf fan in his left hand, saying, "Bai, just hang in there a little longer."
Yu Bai nodded. During this time, Huo Duo'er had barely slept, always waiting for him to fall asleep before resting himself.
Yu Bai understood that Huo Duo'er was also suffering alongside him, so he never complained once.
At night, Yu Bai slept as usual in a linen short jacket, with a thin blanket draped over his belly.
Huo Duo'er, worried he might overheat, spent the night half-asleep, fanning him with his right hand the entire time.
The next day, Yu Bai woke up feeling hot, but the skin around his neck was dry. Huo Duo'er had placed a sweat towel beside him, clearly having wiped his sweat during the night.
He sat up gently, his eyes fixed on the faint dark circles under Huo Duo'er's eyes, and pursed his lips.
Just as he was about to quietly get out of bed to relieve himself, his fingers, which were combing through his hair, suddenly paused, and he let out a soft "Huh?"
Huo Duo'er opened his eyes and immediately sat up as well.
"Bai, what—"
His words faltered as Huo Duo'er's silver-gray orc eyes locked onto the top of Yu Bai's head, his pupils trembling.
To be precise, he was staring at a small green sprout that had emerged from the top of Yu Bai's head.
A moment later, Yu Bai was peering into a basin of clear water, scrutinizing his reflection with a look of confusion.
"Huo Duo'er, why is there a grass... sprout growing on my head?"
He touched the orc's heavily tattooed arm and asked thoughtfully, "Is it related to this?"
Huo Duo'er steadied him by holding his waist and nodded silently.
"Yes."
After hearing the explanation, Yu Bai couldn't hide his astonishment.
It turned out that the orc child in his belly had inherited the power of the mountain god.
The power of the giant tribe was mostly awakened later in life. If it wasn't awakened, then the power wasn't inherited.
But the orc child in his belly hadn't fully formed yet. Although it had gained the power of the mountain god, it couldn't yet condense or control it, so it manifested on the body that carried "it."
Yu Bai touched the tender sprout on his head, holding his breath and focusing, afraid to use too much force in case he accidentally broke it.
