The night was dark, fires were lit inside the houses, and the tribe's scattered lights gradually dispelled the cold in the air.
Man and Ze had strong constitutions, and the chill of deep autumn didn't affect them much.
After spending a long time outside cuddling the orc cub, Man felt his mouth dry and his throat parched. He poured himself two bowls of water and drank them down, then went out to find Ze.
He wrapped his arms around Ze's waist, watching as Ze picked through the vegetable leaves, and decided to lend a hand.
Ze chuckled, "Are you helping or just making a mess?"
Man replied confidently, "Of course I'm helping. When have I ever made a mess for you?"
He then clicked his tongue, "In a few days, let's bring the little cub over to play again."
Ze thought for a moment, "Do you like orc cubs?"
He added, "There aren't many orc cubs in the tribe, but there are some. Why don't I see you playing with them?"
Man lazily rested his head on Ze's back, completely oblivious to the burden his large frame might be causing.
"The other cubs are too noisy, and they cry. I don't like that. Big Huo's cub has guts. Even though he's so small, he's not afraid of me. That's the kind I like."
With that, he gripped Ze's waist and gave it a firm squeeze.
Ze tossed the vegetable leaves aside, "Are we going to eat or not?"
Man's response was straightforward, "I'll eat you first."
Their eyes met, filled with a fiery intensity, ready to ignite at any moment.
Ze barely managed to protect the vegetable basket from being knocked over as Man's arms wrapped around his waist.
Man's strength was rough, and in this moment, he held nothing back, driven purely by primal instinct.
Through the thin linen robe, Ze felt as if he was being crushed and kneaded by Man.
Of course, Ze didn't hold back either.
However, compared to Man's rough and somewhat violent movements, Ze always maintained a guiding hand.
—
The courtyard was still unlit, and the outside was pitch black.
The open window let in a cool autumn breeze, while two sweaty bodies pressed together.
Ze was drenched in sweat, his hair splayed out on the pillow, his features becoming even more striking, beads of sweat adding to his allure.
Man hadn't finished yet, like a unsatisfied lion.
He leaned in to kiss Ze's lips, then moved again.
Ze smiled, his strong fingers running through the orc's hair and neck.
As Man pushed forward, Ze narrowed his eyes.
After a while, he finally said, "Are we really not going to eat?"
Man moved again, lazily replying, "I'm full."
Ze: "We're covered in sweat."
Hearing this, Man became even more enthusiastic, rubbing his sweat all over Ze's body.
"I don't mind."
Ze sighed, "I'm hungry."
Man rubbed Ze's abdomen, tracing the thin, sexy lines of his muscles.
"You've got plenty inside, how can you still be hungry?"
Ze shook his head, unable to handle Man's unrestrained words, "I'm really hungry..."
After returning from the hunt and spending half the day with the cub, the fire between them burned late into the night. Even with their strong physiques, not eating was taking its toll.
Man grunted, stood up, and without a care, went to the courtyard to light a fire, grabbing a bucket of water to rinse himself.
The cold water instantly cooled the orc's overheated body.
Ze wiped himself down, wrapped a loincloth around his waist, and stepped outside, tossing one to Man.
Man, still dripping with water, casually wrapped it around himself.
As Ze picked up the vegetable basket again, Man leaned in, staring intently at Ze's flat stomach.
Ze walked into the kitchen, and Man followed.
The meat and vegetables were tossed into the pot, the flames illuminating the fiery eyes of Man.
After covering the pot to let the dish simmer for a while, Ze found the stove area too hot and stepped outside to lean against the doorframe, enjoying the cool breeze.
Catching Man still staring at his belly, Ze couldn't help but chuckle.
"Stop looking. The baby fruit I ate was sour; I won't get pregnant like Bai."
Man was puzzled, "How do you know for sure?"
Ze replied, "Do you really like cubs? The tribe has brought back quite a few stray young cubs; you could adopt one or two."
At most, only one or two, not because they couldn't afford more, but because they feared the noise.
Man shook his head, "No."
He added, "We can just play with Big Huo and the little priest's cub."
Ze glanced at the fire under the stove, amused, "Why don't you say that in front of Chief Huo?"
Man retorted, "I'm not that stupid."
With Big Huo’s temperament, he would definitely assign him to the first-level hunting area.
If he went alone, it would be fine, but if Ze followed and got hurt, it would be him who'd be heartbroken.
The matter of the cub was temporarily set aside. Man and Ze were busy for another half a month, and it wasn't until early winter that they finally had some free time.
—
Yu Bai had been holed up at home for seven or eight days, while Huo Duo'er still had to go out every day.
He had caught a cold a few days ago and was ordered to stay home to recuperate.
With no work during the winter, he selected some good hides to make a few more autumn and winter jackets for the cub.
Orc cubs grow quickly. Although Jialai mostly took after him, with the blood of the giant tribe and the power of the mountain god in his veins, he was much sturdier and healthier than many other cubs.
So Yu Bai didn't make many clothes for Jialai, planning to make new ones as he grew older.
The house was heated with fine charcoal, so it wasn't too cold. He dressed Jialai in a gray cotton jacket with a thin layer inside, which was enough.
As he was putting socks on his little feet, there was a knock at the door.
Yu Bai went to open it and saw Man with his left hand on Ze's shoulder, waving his right hand at him.
"Xiao Bai, Ze and I came to see the cub."
Yu Bai stepped aside to let them in, noticing that Ze had brought some new hides.
Ze handed over the tanned hides.
"Bai, this is a little something from Ze and me. We got them from the first-level hunting area in autumn. These hides are good, and now that it's cold, you can make some new clothes for Jialai."
He then asked, "Is Big Huo not here?"
Yu Bai went inside, poured them some hot water, and explained with a smile, "He went to Xiu to discuss some matters and will be back later."
Man waved his hand and automatically headed for the crib.
"Big Huo’s not here? Perfect!"
Once he was familiar holding the cub, his movements were much more adept this time.
Yu Bai sat back down at his worktable, not stopping Man's enthusiasm for the cub.
Having someone help with the cub allowed him to focus on his needlework.
Ze also moved closer, joining Man in playing with the cub.
Jialai, who had slept most of the day, was full of energy, grabbing Man's fingers and giggling.
Ze, being meticulous, asked, "Bai, are Ze and I disturbing you?"
Yu Bai shook his head, "If you want to take Jialai out, that's fine too."
Starting this year, the tribe would hold activities after the onset of winter, including warrior competitions, winter swimming, and cooking contests.
These activities not only exercised the body but also fostered camaraderie among the various tribes.
This afternoon, there was a winter swimming event. Yu Bai thought about making a new padded jacket for the orc cub and decided not to join the fun. He also wanted to wait for Huo Duo'er at home.
Apart from necessary outings, he preferred staying indoors.
Man took Ze's hand and headed to the riverside, carrying the most popular orc cub in the tribe.
The prizes for the winter swimming competition were taken from the large warehouse, including leather, grain, and some high-quality beast bones and animal fat.
Man had his eye on the animal fat. He handed the cub to Ze and stretched his muscles.
"I'm going to win that animal fat for you."
Ze cradled the cub in his arms and smiled, "Then I'll wait for you on the shore with Jialai."
On the riverbank, the two male orcs and Jialai stole the show. Meanwhile, in the central courtyard of the tribe, Yu Bai took a sharp stone knife from the warehouse.
He drafted the pattern for the winter coat on paper, measured it, and began cutting.
Huo Duo'er entered with two buckets of water, warmed himself by the charcoal brazier, and then sat down beside Yu Bai.
The orc wrapped an arm around his waist, leaned in, and kissed his forehead.
"Where's the cub?"
"Man and Ze took him out to play."
Huo Duo'er didn't comment, silently agreeing.
When the cub was at home, Yu Bai's attention was mostly on the little one.
Especially during the day when the cub was awake, it was hard for him to find time to spend with his mate.
Yu Bai focused on his needlework, not stopping Huo Duo'er from occasionally leaning in to kiss him or caress him.
Until that warm, rough hand slipped under his clothes, Yu Bai put down the leather, his face flushed.
"It's still daylight..."
He said so but didn't push away.
Huo Duo'er lifted Yu Bai with one arm and tossed him onto the thickly padded mattress.
Staring at his unresisting mate, his breathing deepened, his gaze darkening.
He leaned down, encircling the man, and pressed him down.
"Before the cub returns, I'll make it quick."
Yu Bai felt a warm lick on his neck, closed his eyes, and tilted his head back, making it easier for Huo Duo'er.
"Then... hurry up..."
As he spoke, his legs brushed against Huo Duo'er, and his leg was quickly lifted.
Huo Duo'er knelt on one knee, his eyes burning with desire.
His gaze fixed on his mate's ankles, then eagerly lifted them high, resting them on his broad shoulders.
