It’s Exciting to Snatch the Supporting Male Lead and Run Away [Quick Wear] - 95

IETSTSMLARA | The Ambitious Vampire Prince | 95

Lin Su’s clothes were designed by him, embodying a low-key yet luxurious style. On the surface, they looked simple, but there were hidden thoughtful details throughout. With the emerald cufflinks, he descended the staircase, and Arnold, who was setting the table, stood there in a daze.

Ian glanced at him, then at Yi Zhelai, and said, "Mr. Lin really looks like a noble."

More precisely, he resembled Yi Zhelai’s race, which was both refined and noble.

"It's a pity you're not a vampire," Yi Zhelai remarked with a glance.

No matter how well a human is born, in just a few decades they will completely lose their color, their skin will wrinkle, their hair will turn white, and then they will turn into a handful of yellow earth.

His words sounded sarcastic, but they were actually a compliment. Lin Su didn't mind and simply ordered people to do their work.

"Ian and Arnold can manage the household affairs. What do you want to do?" Lin Su asked with a smile.

He calmly sat across from Yi Zhelai, showing no fear or apprehension like Joe and Arnold.

Yi Zhelai didn’t comment on his behavior. Whether it was humans or vampires, he only recognized the strong. "What do you want me to do?"

"Help me investigate something. Who exactly has been creating vampires?" Lin Su said, interlocking his fingers.

The number of vampires was significantly higher than that of blood kin, and there were newly turned vampires like Arnold, indicating that there were vampires who were either intentionally or unintentionally creating vampires.

The more vampires there were, the more intense the conflict between humans and vampires would become. He could kill those who were devoid of humanity, but he couldn’t bring himself to harm cases like Arnold’s. If the root cause wasn’t cut off, the situation would only get worse.

Yi Zhelai clearly also realized the seriousness of the problem. "Alright," he said.

As a vampire, he equally despised the brutal and tasteless way vampires fed.

...

Reaching an agreement with Yi Zhelai made many things progress much smoother. With the gold coins he had from before, setting up a hospital was a straightforward task. Lin Su handled it effortlessly, and with a series of regulations and trustworthy people supervising, everything was on track.

Although Lin Su’s initial purpose for the hospital was for blood, he never engaged in unprofitable ventures.

Upon his return from another vampire hunt, he brought back three newly turned vampires.

Two girls and one boy, all in their youth, with endless possibilities ahead of them, now permanently fixed in this moment of time.

Initially, they were fearful, but with Arnold as a precedent, calming and settling them was just a matter of time.

Being able to earn blood through work and live peacefully here was almost a paradise for them, who were despised by humans. This made them exceptionally diligent in their tasks.

【  Free and legal labor,】System 06 commented.

Moreover, they wouldn't age, and the longer a vampire lived, the stronger they would become. Even women could turn into something akin to Transformers.

【  A highly profitable venture, and everyone is willing, so why not do it?】Lin Su said with a smile.

Maximizing benefits through legitimate means is the most basic quality of a businessman.

While Lin Su's business was thriving, a new manor was being built in the outskirts of Balen City-State. Unlike others, it was not bought but constructed from scratch.

The manor's construction progressed rapidly, reaching a preliminary scale in just half a month. The greenery and flowers in the manor bloomed splendidly, clearly transported from far away.

"I heard that a noble is moving to Balen City-State," some passing girls gossiped. "Building a manor so quickly, they must be very wealthy."

"If the owner of the manor is handsome, he’ll surely be admired by the noble ladies," another girl remarked.

"Wealthy people usually have big, fat heads. How can they be handsome?" one girl laughed, covering her mouth.

"That’s not necessarily true. They say the manor is filled with white roses, a sea of flowers. It must be very beautiful," a girl said dreamily. "Someone who loves such pure flowers can’t possibly be ugly."

A carriage passed by, luxurious and comfortable, with Lin Su sitting upright inside. He had been pondering something but chuckled softly when he heard the conversation.

Joe, sitting beside him, asked, "Master, did something make you happy?"

"Yes, it should be good news," Lin Su smiled.

If someone could track him all the way from that place to here, it meant the little vampire was deeply attached to him. But smart people know that something easily given is not always cherished, so there would still be some tug-of-war.

White roses—such an obvious hint.

The manor's completion took another half month, and its rapid construction became the talk of Balen City-State. The conversations mostly revolved around the mysterious owner of the manor and just how wealthy they must be…

While the elite of Balen City-State were curious about the new manor, they received invitations from its owner for a ball. This was a sign of goodwill and an attempt to integrate into the Balen City-State circle.

Even Lin Su, who could only be considered a nouveau riche as the hospital director, received an invitation.

The invitation was sealed with wax, embossed with a rose design, very much in line with Lin Su's usual style. The ball was scheduled for three days later.

"This banquet may not necessarily be friendly towards us," Yi Zhelai said upon returning, holding a similar invitation.

【  A Hongmen Banquet,】System 06 remarked.

"No matter what kind of banquet it is, nothing will be resolved without meeting," Lin Su said with a smile. "Do you want to come along?"

Yi Zhelai stared at him for a long moment before turning away. "No, I won't go."

Since it was a hunting game between the two of them, there was no need for him to interfere. A prince's absence wouldn't cause any significant issues.

"Mr. Lin, are you going to the ball? Do you need me to support you?" Ian asked eagerly as he hurried in from outside, his face full of enthusiasm and anticipation.

Ian was naturally warm-hearted, and apart from him and Joe, the other inhabitants of the villa—specifically the vampires—weren’t suitable for public appearances.

"Sure, thanks," Lin Su said, smiling at Yi Zhelai. "Are you sure you don't want to come? If your little darling gets targeted by non-humans, I might not be able to protect him."

As the protagonist, Ian's blood was of high quality, not quite as good as the system-produced ones but still attractive enough to lure some vampires. If he wasn't guarded, it would be like throwing a prime piece of meat into a pack of wolves.

Yi Zhelai stiffened and turned back. "You humans are indeed cunning."

The human trait of cunning was something Lin Su possessed in abundance, making him unpredictable. Even the cunning Celtic was often outmaneuvered by him. Yet, Lin Su had his principles and bottom lines, which made Yi Zhelai feel he was different from other humans.

If anything, it seemed Lin Su existed outside the confines of all races, treating every race with the same indifference.

"So, are you going or not?" Lin Su asked with a smile.

Yi Zhelai's face grew even colder. "Yes," he said, the word seeming to come from the depths of an ice cave.

Lin Su chuckled and raised an eyebrow. "Ian, help him prepare clothes for the banquet."

"Yes," Ian said, looking at Lin Su with admiration. Mr. Lin could make Yi Zhelai obey, which was truly impressive.

...

On the night of the banquet, the once-desolate land was now bustling with carriages and bright lights. Ladies in evening gowns stepped out of carriages, lifting their skirts as they ascended the steps, welcomed by attendants.

The manor was adorned with lights, giving it a different charm and grandeur at night. The white roses made it look like a paradise.

"Oh, how beautiful this place is! Mr. Celtic must have a great sense of aesthetics," a lady couldn't help but praise.

The attendant smiled politely, "Thank you for your kind words, madam."

"The flowers are lovely. May I pick one?" a young lady in a pink dress asked, her large, watery eyes blinking.

"There are other flower arrangements at the banquet that you can choose from. These flowers are very dear to the host. I'm sure a graceful and proper lady like yourself wouldn't want to make such an impolite gesture on your first visit," the attendant replied with a polite but firm tone.

The young lady's face changed slightly. She lifted her skirt and ascended the steps. "Hmph, I don't need to pick a flower. Who cares about a single flower anyway?"

The banquet was lavish and opulent, with fine wines, a variety of food and pastries, and a top-tier band playing music.

At the banquet, noble gentlemen engaged in conversations, either discussing business or boasting about their accessories or assets, while noblewomen clustered together, mostly talking about makeup and dresses. The words exchanged sounded friendly, but the underlying meanings and layers of sarcasm were understood by all.

In the dance floor, couples swayed to the music, heightening the emotions of some men and women. Young ladies, at an age filled with fantasies, often focused their attention on promising young men, yearning for fairy-tale romances.

When Lin Su arrived, the banquet had not officially started. The host usually made a grand entrance, while late guests were considered very rude. As Lin Su stepped out of the car, he buttoned his suit, exuding a low-key yet luxurious style. With his commanding presence, he was destined to become the focal point of the banquet.

As he and Yi Zhelai entered the hall, the initially noisy place fell silent for a moment. The noblewomen, eager for gossip, looked over and their eyes lit up, while the noble gentlemen and young talents felt overshadowed by the newcomers.

One was cold and unapproachable, the other warm but distant; both exuded a natural nobility that commanded respect even from those who were reluctant to acknowledge it.
