Another heavy rainstorm, water droplets rolled down from the eaves.
The courtyard was flooded, and after clearing the water, Huo Duo'er took the opportunity to reinforce the rain shelter over the vegetable patch.
Yu Bai was particularly fond of this plot of land; it would be lush and green every year just after spring. Now, as he was bedridden while recovery and unable to tend to it, these chores naturally fell to Huo Duo'er.
Upon entering the house, his beastly eyes immediately focused on the bed, his pupils flickering and instantly softening.
Yu Bai had just woken up not long ago, lying on his side, gently covering the little cub sleeping beside him with a small blanket.
The rain was heavy, and a cool breeze drifted through the air. He hugged the soft little body in his arms tighter and smiled gently at the figure by the door.
Huo Duo'er walked to the foot of the bed and lay down on his side. He opened his arms and effortlessly pulled his mate and the little cub into his embrace. He lowered his head and brushed his lips against Yu Bai's soft earlobe.
"Bai, are you still feeling unwell today?"
Yu Bai shook his head: "I feel much better."
It was strange to say, but Yu Bai didn't struggle much during the birth. At the time, he only felt all his strength drain away, completely losing consciousness.
When he opened his eyes again, the child had already emerged from his belly.
One could say the cub had worked its way out of his belly on its own, and Huo Duo'er had even described the scene to him. Thinking back on it, Yu Bai still found it unbelievable.
Although he hadn't suffered much during the birth, the process of pregnancy had drained a lot of his vitality. After two weeks of bed rest and daily nourishing soups, his complexion had regained some of its vitality.
Yu Bai carefully examined the small, soft body in his arms. It looked like a human baby, with no orc features, except for a thin green totem circling its wrist, like a sprout wrapped around it.
This was a symbol off inheriting the power of the mountain god.
The little one resembled him, but its eyes were like Huo Duo'er's, though the shape of the eyes was still his.
He held the little one's hand, turned his head, and kissed the corner of Huo Duo'er's mouth.
Before he could pull back, the back of his head was held firmly, and Huo Duo'er's palm pressed against the nape of his neck, deepening the kiss.
A warm tongue entered his mouth, repeatedly caressing his lips, sucking them gently and then more firmly, as if wanting to ruin the soft, slightly sweet lips.
Only when a wet line of saliva connected their lips did Huo Duo'er release Yu Bai, allowing him to catch his breath.
Yu Bai leaned against the broad chest behind him, breathing heavily. His damp, dazed eyes looked back, only to be burned by the other's restrained yet fervent beastly gaze.
Ever since he became pregnant with the beast child, Huo Duo'er had not made any sexual demands on him—until today...
Being able to endure didn't mean there was no desire.
Yu Bai swallowed and said hoarsely, "Put the baby in the crib."
Huo Duo'er's gaze grew heated, and he responded in a low voice. He then reached out, picked up the cub, and placed it in the small crib nearby, drawing the curtain closed.
Yu Bai's breath, which had just calmed down, grew hot again. The scorching lips and tongue moved along the edge of his ear, and the warmth of the large palm burned through the linen shirt.
—
The rain, which had paused for a while, began to fall again. Bean-sized drops eagerly tapped against the window eaves, making a splashing sound.
Yu Bai's eyelashes fluttered lightly, and his palms clenched.
His cheeks flushed a vivid crimson, but he suppressed his trembling, focusing intently yet shyly on his fingers, rubbing and kneading them.
The breath against his neck grew heavier, and Yu Bai looked up in panic.
Meeting Huo Duo'er's face, which was intertwined with deep desire, the strength in his fingers increased.
After a moment, Huo Duo'er stretched his majestic body and gave him a heavy bite.
Yu Bai took a deep breath: "...Is this... okay now?"
Huo Duo'er grunted roughly.
A little later, after the thunder outside had subsided, Huo Duo'er first brought a basin of water into the room, helped Yu Bai wash his hands, and then changed into a linen robe.
Another clap of thunder sounded, and the little one let out a soft cry.
Yu Bai leaned over and met the little one's silvery eyes through the curtain.
He murmured, "Are you afraid of thunder?"
He wanted to hold the little one in his arms and pat him, but his fingers were too sore and weak.
All his strength had just been used on Huo Duo'er.
Huo Duo'er said, "I'll hold him."
Yu Bai lay back on the bed, and Huo Duo'er cradled the little one in his arm, patting his back a few times with his palm.
Moments later, his pupils trembled slightly, and the freshly changed robe was instantly soaked.
Yu Bai let out a surprised "Huh" and chuckled.
"So he needed to relieve himself."
In the half-month since the little one was born, Huo Duo'er had held him at fixed times every day to help him relieve himself, and there had never been any accidents.
Just now, they had been too preoccupied with each other, missing the usual time to help the little one relieve himself.
The little one couldn't hold it in and ended up wetting Huo Duo'er.
Thinking about it, neither of the new fathers was angry; instead, they felt a bit guilty toward the little one.
Huo Duo'er wiped the little one's bottom with a clean cloth, then placed him beside Yu Bai's pillow and went to change into another robe.
As the rain fell and the thunder rumbled, Yu Bai leaned down and kissed the little one's chubby cheek.
The little one seemed to realize he had wet his father, his thick eyelashes fluttering, and his chubby face pressed against Yu Bai's, showing a hint of embarrassment despite his tiny size.
Yu Bai's heart melted into a puddle. He kissed the little one's nose and then the small hand with the sprout tattoo.
"Be good, little one. It's Daddy's fault for forgetting. It's not your fault."
The baby let out a soft "Yah," his silvery eyes blinking, and his little fist pressed against his father's chest as he slowly fell asleep.
At this stage, young cubs sleep after eating. Yu Bai patted his back, and there seemed to be a knock at the door.
Through the sound of the rain, it was hard to hear who was speaking. Soon, Huo Duo'er returned, carrying something quite familiar.
Yu Bai's eyes lit up: "A baby stroller."
Huo Duo'er placed the baby stroller beside the crib: "Chang Sheng sent it over."
The Gray Mouse tribe was skilled in craftsmanship. Upon hearing the news that the priest was pregnant, the Gray Mouse orcs, led by Chang Sheng, wanted to send something to the priest as a token of gratitude for the chief and priest's willingness to bring the Gray Mouse tribe back to the tribe.
After going through numerous blueprints, they finally decided to make a baby stroller.
In recent years, not many young orcs had been born in the tribe, and the female orcs had endured great hardship during pregnancy.
Therefore, Yu Bai, along with Mian and several other female orcs who had given birth and had medical knowledge, had discussed matters related to caring for pregnant orcs in a large class, mentioning things like diapers and baby strollers.
It was just a casual mention in class, but unexpectedly, the Chang Sheng brothers had managed to create a baby stroller based on their understanding.
While Yu Bai was delighted, another idea suddenly occurred to him, and he instructed Huo Duo'er to fetch some materials from the warehouse.
He planned to make diapers for the baby.
With limited materials, he could only choose processed and relatively soft fibers, linen, and paper to create a simple version of diapers.
Given the circumstances, Yu Bai had no other choice.
Huo Duo'er didn't have as many thoughts. The cub he and Bai had was already living a much better life than the children born in the past.
From the moment they were born, the young cubs of the Giant tribe faced the trials of the environment. If they couldn't endure the miasma, they would return to the embrace of the Orc God.
—
That afternoon, Yu Bai and Huo Duo'er stayed together, researching how to make diapers.
During the process, Yu Bai suddenly spoke up: "Huo Duo'er, the little one has been born for half a month now, and we still haven't given him a name. What do you think we should call him?"
Over the past month, Yu Bai had thought of countless names, but since Huo Duo'er hadn't brought it up, he thought the other might not care about the child.
Suppressing his anxiety, he brought up the topic himself.
Huo Duo'er's eyes flickered: "Jialai."
"Jialai..." Yu Bai whispered the name.
In the language of the orc tribe, Jia Lai meant a treasure bestowed by the natural gods, symbolizing bravery and determination.
Jialai was also the treasure Bai had given him. His Bai had bravely gave birth to their child.
Huo Duo'er leaned in, took the half-finished diaper from Yu Bai's hands, and then pulled him onto his lap.
He kissed Yu Bai's warm, fair cheek, stopping only when he reached the reddened earlobe.
"Bai, the little one will be called Jialai, Yu Jialai."
